Oh my goodness me! I have spent some time just now viewing all the versions of the Grand Pas Classique posted on YouTube. FOr me, Ms Kono comes third after Guillem and Vishneva.

She even manages to make the pas de chat at the beginning look elegant. Wonderful stage presence.

I honestly don't know how the judges pick the winner, because every single one of the dancers that competes is absolutely amazing. If I was a judge, I would just tell them they've all won.

well, this variation's one of the hardest in classical repetoire; there's a reason its called grand pas classique. I think she did quite well.

she is a great ballerina but: in ballonè en avant line, the rigth leg needs more croissee,in this tour, left arm is late to impulse the pirouette ralenteè,at the end is the other arm, like a question (said mme Chauvire) is pas class que not paquita)

and we lost 8 times of changement de pied,flick coud de pied sur le point before the piquè en de dans manege..but is a really hard variation,.. BRAVA !

She has great technique and dances very well, if you see the ballet is as a sports her demonstration will be excellent, but if you see the ballet is an AN ART, it seems that the balance of her body is not so beautiful so it is normal that there are some people who does not like her for a ballerina.

Ballet is the art, it is very very important the balance of body.

SO many japanese dancers at this sort of level, including this girl, takana akane, and so many that ive seen in international ballet competitions. japanese teen ballerinas who compete on the world stage are pretty amazing, it's too bad none of them stay in their home (japanese) companies, the competition must be so fierce for them in europe/west to enter into european companies.

wow that is the best version ive seen. the only thing she didnt do was the little pas de bourres before the piques, but i honestly like that she didnt!
