If you have a fairly strong computer (like me) and put the graphics settings to as high as possible, the sims in the game are quite similar to the ones in this promo

You are right about the EP's, but sims 3 does have better quality of graphics. And yes the sims 2 trailers were showing what you could do in the game where as in this trailer they just show the principal. I think that the sims 3 is a good game if you have a good PC but sims 2 was an amazing game
Really, I didn't know. I personally wasn't such a big fan of the Sims until Sims 3 came out. I bought Sims 2 than sold it. Looking back though I wish I hadn't sold it.

They should make an expantion pack or something that makes the sims more crazy and pychotic and random like the commercials. Because I would love it if the game was like that.
Just my opinion, and it has nothing to do with what is or isn't in the ad - I just prefer Sims 2 :) Sims 3 isn't bad, the create-a-sim bit is great and all - I just have more fun on Sims 2. The sims are better-looking, and you can build awesome houses with matching furniture, and the navigation is easier to use.
@BlondeCurlsBlueEyes thats so weird i find it more comfortable to build houses in sims 3 ,the whole move the walls without having to repaint things. And more options in building the sim. The only thing is I find the new patches annoying, sims 2 just came out and that was it. Sims 3 has a new patch or whatever its called a version every few weeks. And then all the mods and extra things re useless shit.

@mrsnickbrown Yeah it is pretty misleading, but then again most game trailers do that and the Sims 3 is cool so I can forgive this. Though I wish u could do all the things in this trailer like jumping through the window after robbing someone and falling down a hill that would be awesome haha xx

Just my opinion, and it has nothing to do with what is or isn't in the ad - I just prefer Sims 2 :) Sims 3 isn't bad, the create-a-sim bit is great and all - I just have more fun on Sims 2. The sims are better-looking, and you can build awesome houses with matching furniture, and the navigation is easier to use.

@BlondeCurlsBlueEyes thats so weird i find it more comfortable to build houses in sims 3 ,the whole move the walls without having to repaint things. And more options in building the sim. The only thing is I find the new patches annoying, sims 2 just came out and that was it. Sims 3 has a new patch or whatever its called a version every few weeks. And then all the mods and extra things re useless shit.

The game takes sooooo long if u play it !!.. i mean if u want to make a beautiful sims u need to choose lots of things, i take 2 hours to make just 1 !!!!.. and i wish we can do all those things in the REAL game cuz all that was just a video & its nothing!! i mean the game is AWESOME but its not really as i imagine it will be??! i though it will be much better, but i still like it. its just i felt bad when i first play it

I cant do somersaults, back flips, or cartwheels through the streets. -_- I think the producers for the Sims embellished too much for Sims 3. I mean, if people bought the Sims 1 and 2 without it being embellished that much, then they'd do the same with the Sims 3. But no, they just had to go and over due the ads for the Sims 3!
