  • So THAT's how they do those crop circles!

  • 1:30 was awesome

  • Salt is definitely Alien technology.

  • @1:46 |o|

  • NATURE IS AWESOME!

  • How high of a freq did you run?? Curious.

  • What was the driver and amplifier power? Just curious. Very Cool!!!!

  • the world is written in mathematics

  • @Gutsyndicate Proof that god is a nerd.

  • what a mind fuck

  • Ho.ly. Crap. This is soooo cool. I'm such a music geek and this just made me so happy!! :)

  • @musicchic9 Me too! we need salt all over the stages at concerts

  • string theory. proven.

  • looks like cell mitosis and meiosis after a while...really makes you wonder

  • Your salt just came alive, bro!

  • My dogs just went fucking mental!

  • Wow are you kidding.

  • Wow! Mechanic animation :)

  • It's like snow flakes man, kinda makes u think eh?

  • Those are very interesting "wave patterns"?

  • ~ I first saw this on the "HILLARIOUS HOUSE OF FRIGHTENSTEIN" in the lab with the PROFESSOR - he was the coolest!

~What type of patterns appear beyond our hearing range?

  • This happens to the water in your 3rd eye

  • awhhhhhh.! my ear hurts >.<

  • Where can I buy one of these tables?

  • ahhh my ears!!

  • lets wake up, this is what we are!

  • lets wake up, this is what we are!

  • That could explain the crop circles in some way

  • @tsunamyboy69 exactly!.. it has to do with certain frequency's and magnetic fields ...... amazing stuff really

  • @tsunamyboy69 nice thought

  • i think his apparatus broke right before the end of the video

  • This is one of the best visualizational artwork pieces i've ever seen. Even if the maker didn't intend on it being an art piece

  • 1:46 tic tac toe anyone? Oh wait, circles have won!

  • The power of sound for all to see...

  • the golden shape in the nature is very interesting, too

  • Stream..`It',`Now,.'

    Copy`.,&.",Paste`"'

  • this is scik

  • FUCK MY EARS

  • Dubstep would make the salt float in mid air lol

  • All the dogs within 1000 Miles of me are howling cause i had this playing on 5.1

  • AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! MY EARS!!!

  • thumbs up if you think they should do this sept with the note going down.

  • Vibration is the physical form of energy. I think the bodhivsitta's get the whole "ohmmmm" concept. This is relative to eastern philosophies in that of sacred geometry and questions like the eternal or unseen VS the external or physical.

    Deep stuff.

  • @rcacad I very much agree with what you said that the vibration is the physical expression of energy (kinetic) and believe in "sacred geometry" ("fractality of the universe" for me) ... but I also want to know more about it.

Do not you help me? I find something concrete (with clear examples) on this geometry?

  • @rcacad Would have sent you a personal message IF your washanwear page was not blocked.

  • play a chord

  • so does this mean that there are actual frequencies that make a defined shape and the in between frequencies make a mess? that doesn't make sense to me coz there should be harmonic equivalents for all frequencies. shouldnt there? or is it because of the frequency that the vibrating board thing is "tuned" to?

  • Well that's the coolest thing I've seen all week.

  • So cool

  • my laptop is vibrating

  • OMG never! use a full spectrum sound system and this vid :O my fucking window was vibrating

  • @lollieee95 ha too late. i should have read before listening. but that was pretty crazy though i have to admit

  • The higher the frequency, the shorter and more dynamic the sound waves become, hence, more crossover, interference, distortions, etc.

So, the more "complex" the pattern seems... at the small scale that is.

  • ...the only time i will hear that disgusting of a noise and voluntarily keep listening

  • WTF IS GOING ON?

  • That's wicked. Are the patterns dependent on frequency alone, or is the positioning of the "speakers" also a factor?

  • @Lmodkicksyourass i think its on the frequency alone, though im not entirely sure.

  • the first thing to do in this vid: screeeeeaaaaammmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's like a crop circle patterns... O.o

  • is this the box alchemy i have hard of

  • Yeah !!!

  • turn it offf! my dog is freaking ouit!!!!

  • 0:45 HAHAHA XMen are real.......

  • If this is real - WOW!

  • Higher Frequency = More Circles

  • impress your drug buddies with the table that puts the coke in to lines for you

  • @shiftystix1801 Dude that was funny!

  • can everybody hear the full audio??

  • @johncasti91 yeah...

  • The salt is actually showing the resonant frequencies on the plate. Where the salt is at - there is no vibration - a node. Where there is vibration - the salt gets throw off, an antinode.. So when a mechanical part breaks, it may be due to it bending at a particular frequency. You can change the nodes and anti-nodes by for example, putting a magnet somewhere. The weight of the magnet will change the way it vibrates. This is basically the field on Noise and Vibration used by engineers.

  • that looks really cool but hurts my ears so bad

  • 2:03 "Cool."

  • if you have a pet, DONT WATCH THIS!!!!

  • DAMN, the pitch :s

  • Looks like the CBC logo near the end there...

  • Ahhh! Made my skin crawl.

I'll be doing this for an upper div acoustics course-uc berkeley

  • dont look like a table to me...

    looks like ur mother's chair

  • 0:44 i came

  • i pooped my pants again dammit

  • 1:59

    Is that a fucking bear?

  • Proof That Sound Is Art.

  • i think this demonstrates that the world around us has many levels we are not aware of, instead we see the world through our "simple" filter so it makes more sense. i think this applies to colors, people, etc...

  • ok, i'm no scientist, but i believe that what we percieve as a frequency is actually a series of harmonics that heard together sound like a certain frequency. if you've ever tried to tune a guitar with old strings its hard to hear the harmonic series agree on a frequency. so i think some of the salt reacts to one harmonic while other parts, another.

  • Comment removed

  • BS

  • what kind of surface do i need to do this? would a sheet spread over a speaker work?

  • This guy should throw some salt over his shoulder or something.

  • wow... its amazing how sound/ vibration can build such... intelligent looking forms. its like seeing the big bang an evolution in one !

  • That's actually a really cool way to make glyphs. o.o

  • Ok so if sound makes shape, does that mean shapes = sound? Makes me really wonder if hieroglyphs can be translated into sounds. Is tetris really a poem. This video was awesome regardless if i lost my hearing during it.

  • ALIEN MESSAGES!

  • Great - Please describe your hardware.

  • Thanks very much - YouTube is the first place I ever saw something like this.

  • as the frequency increases the patterns become increasingly more complex.

  • as the frequency increases higher the patterns become more complex.

  • omg... my favorite was at 1:08

  • Is this real? I have my doubts. But it is strange indeed.

  • @opalfairy. Very good comment and I think its true. The lower chakras are basic and have a lower frequency than the higher chakras who have a much higher frequency.

  • OGod, the in-between moments scare the crap outta me. It's like watching cells split into more and more cells which turn out to be cancerous and kill us or something.

  • My ears are ringing.

  • thats tight :P

  • whaaaaaaaaat haha sweet

  • This is fascinating +1 uploader

  • this is unbelievable!

  • Great video! I believe this is whats going on all around us with unseen particals in the air.

  • One day, after watched a doc on TV, I did an experience like this one : I really made the neiborough seek. Because the sound have to be loud enough for the experience to work.

But, it works ! The "particules" self-organize themselves, depending on the frequency (the spectrum acts too) of the sound emitted.

It should be nicer if they added two oscilloscopes : one showing the waveform, another one showing the spectrum of the sound we ear.

Does exist any open source code to simulate this ?

  • Can you pls help me to make the same table. I want to know how have you build the same. I m doing a project for which I need to build the same. Pls help!!!

  • ear rape

  • Is there a explanation somewhere @ the internet . Link Please !

  • This would be a great way to screw with people that think spirits are trying to communicate with them.

  • the higher the frequency the more complex the pattern. that's just awesome.

  • Jesus is answer to all problems, give the lord your problems.

  • @bass109 Jesus is gay

  • They brokeded it :P

  • Our Bodies have a lot of Salt & Water, I guess Vibration Affects us

  • cool

  • That is proven high frequency do damage to human body cells . It can causes brain

    malfunction !

  • @MrWhistleBlower1

then why are we listening to this?

  • @MrWhistleBlower1 there is so much wrong with your logic.

  • thats amazing !

  • Stopped hearing anything at 1:53 :)

  • cool

  • i think thats hoe crop circles are made

  • wow amazing how fast it goes! are those circles like "sound bubbles"?

  • Sacred Geometry

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • So.... Let me get this straight, the higher the frequency, the more complex the pattern?

  • @Opalfairy11 It has more wave interference.

  • @Opalfairy11 Yeah, because the waves are closer together.

  • @Opalfairy11

it looks like the patterns form at harmonic frequencies of the plate, that would explain the increasing complexity, when a standing wave forms in the plate at the harmonic frequencies the salt will gather at the zero point lines on the plane. because more cycles of the standing wave fit on the plate then higher the harmonic is more lines fill form accordingly

  • @Opalfairy11 indirectly, the smaller waves the more of them can be placed on the plate of this size, and because of it forms the more complex figures.

  • @Opalfairy11 typically yes.... quite evolutionary.

  • i saw these simbuls before 0_0 it was with this alien thing btw tell me what they did to u ^_^

  • at around 1 minute my pc's speaker went bust!

    HAHA

  • Please explain to a Medieval Literature major what makes these cool things happen!

  • those aren't harmonics - they are standing waves

  • try changing the waveforms too!

  • this really pissed off my dog you jerk

  • @hovatervater Why the hell didn't you mute it idiot?

  • dont let your dog hear this shit...

  • tht hurt my fukin ears :L

  • fuck me thts amazin ;))

  • DEVIL TABLE DEVIL SALT WITCH! BURN THE THREE AT TEH STAKE TOGETHER!

  • great

  • OMB am I on crack???

  • pretty :)

  • Holy shit, my mind is raped

  • id like to see a singer hit these notes

  • oh god my dog started freaking out and barking near the end lol

  • this is the strangest audio related video but good experiment

  • crop circles man...but ouch! hell on ears!

  • dumb and fake

  • excellent, so great to see all the changes, and aye it was tuff at one point wi headphones

  • it looks a lot like cellular reproduction...

  • wtf.........

  • This is beautiful! But it hurts my head!

  • My cat loves this! especially on the highest note, she tried to climb into the screen!

  • @funkeymonkey22003 Haha I know. My cat goes crazy when I even whistle.

  • Lots of strong harmonics nodes a couple inches from center...

  • this is how ufo's are made

  • Crop Circles explained......

  • yooo, they should play some music and then see what the salt looks like

  • this gave me a fuckin headache

  • this is sooooo cool!

  • I've seen photos of this same process applied to the study of guitar vibrations in the late 1960's. It was performed by Kaman industries as they applied their methods for studying helicopter blade vibration to the design of their new musical instrument - the Ovation guitar.

  • Now play some Kenny G haha

  • I think it's just an intricate "Wooly Willie" game with a bunch of guys that used to work for Jim Henson with magnets hidden under the table.

  • These patterns are reminiscent if those generated by a program I wrote for the Commodore 64 in response to a Scientific American article Sept '86. The prog was called "Hopalong", an iteration of a mathematical formula. Check it out!

  • this is amazing. this is whats up.

  • Salt is crystalline in its atomic structure, so vibrates differently according to the vibrations and variations in the pitch. Very cool video!

  • this works because the vibrations sound cause :D
