thats not a planetary gearbox but video is still good for taking a peek under the hood.. hehe

Thank you!! this is an excellent way to "see" what's up on a front wheeldrive vehicle. I want to change trades, either to a machinest or rebuilding automatic trans. Right now I am in construction. Anybody nows about these trades? Thanks.

So, then what makes the tranny break ? What usually causes that kind of damage? I'm interested in knowing.

@Filmaker25 usialy, if tranny has been abused ,the cluches starting to slip ,or if there is lack of trasmition fluid you might experience unproper gear change.

I've rebuilt a few tranys and most times I found wore out friction material on the braking band (the red object in the video). If that was the case, $25-$30 would repair the trany.

Probably worth pointing out that this is from a transaxle - that is a transmission and differential in a combined unit. Mostly found in front wheel drive cars.

For an ordinary automatic transmission found in most rear wheel drives you only need to look at the first set of gears, that the handle is connected to.
