First of all you cannot miss a pocket by a full diamond and still make it. That makes no sense. The pockets would have to be bigger than bowling balls, Second, every good player knows that Earl looks for reasons other than skill as an excuse for why he lost. If he wins its because he has outplayed his opponent. If he loses its because the game has something wrong with it. He is the Phil Hellmuth of pool.

Am I the only person that idolizes Earl Strickland? He is by far my favorite pool player. I happen to think his attitude is the best!!! Keep in mind that he is preobably the best player that ever lived. I talked to him once and he told me that he was sick of where pool has gone. Now it is a game played in a bar by weekend warriors. Big pockets, smaller tables, flawed tables, etc... You can walk into a bar and mis the pocket by a diamond, but it will still fall cause the pockets r so big.

@sorryca pool is a pretty solitary game. before a big match he said he didnt really practice and his wife said hed spend about 12 hours practicing at a time or something like that. this shows hes a loner; he enjoys his peaceful loner time with pool. I love 8 ball 9 ball and snooker and play both them all but snooker is a much harder game .. Its a lot easier to clear a table pot every ball in pool than it is to get a 147 in snooker

kicking, banking and masses are a more integral part of pool than snooker

also the colors and the white in snooker are consistently in the same positions on the table, so break building is less varied than what when you try to run out in pool

if snooker were really harder, snooker players would dominate pool, and they haven't in all the years they've (ronnie o'sullivan, mark williams) tried.

I think people need to understand that Earl doesn't act like a complete nut for no reason.. He has to be mentally sick.. if anything earl can be a role model in a sick sort of way. Regardless of how good a shot he is, ... Earl is just about as childish as a pool player gets. No opponent should have to come to the table and have to deal with players like these. There should be rules in place at major tournaments to discourage this type of behaviour. (We'll warn you twice about unsportsman like conduct. Do it again, and your out of the tournament!)
