This show is from 2002 when Conor and M first met. Conor has explained in several interviews that a person skipped out on the tour and conor needed someone to play for him. So he showed up at M's front door and asked him to play. And so Monsters of Folk and Smoke Without Fire was born!
@lilysound I think it was when Conor was with Desperaciodos. He needed a bassist, they kicked theirs out. They were in Portland and had a show in Frisco the next day. They called up somebody who got a hold of M. Ward and they picked him up and toured with him.
i don't know how to describe this feeling but this song/duet is so beautiful that i want to like perform a sacrifice of myself to them soooo beautiful i'm dying right now... conor and m ward are my two favorite artists.... and like... together it's just...unbearable.... the unbearable joy....oh my god....
if you type youtube to mp3 in google it comes up with a really small file to download that is a programme that extracts the audio from videos. You just type the web address in and it downloads it as an mp3 for you to put on your ipod

I saw them play this song together after ACL last year.
Definitely one of the moments of my life I'll always remember. They've always been the most inspirational artists to me.
