@yamitech mmmmmm, I think the overall build of DJ Hero is harder. DJ Hero was harder to pick up with all the lil things you have to do w/ the fader, knobs and buttons ON the turntable. Beatmania looks a bit too much like guitar hero w/ a turntable. I picked up guitar hero and played it fairly easy and I'm horrible at guitars (much better using things w/ keys) . the rhythm of IIDX song you speak of looks too easy as well. Sure it sounds fast, but it's a pretty easy pattern.

2. DJ hero is unique due to the Scratching, And the cool mixes but the overall difficulty is abit more casual then IIDX.

3. Terms of realism, Yeah DJ Hero is closer.

Last, Beatmania has been around scince 1997, Far before any of the Hero Series so keep that in mind.

Also fun fact. Due to the hero games Beatmania never made it to NA :U becuase of people calling the game a "Rip Off"
