I'm pretty sure that someone is sliding up to a G9 chord up on the Tenth Fret before the beginning of the First Verse.

And at the turnaround into the Second Verse when it goes from G to D7, there is a nice little ascending chromatic run in the middle of the D7 chord on the 4th String that goes from F to F# to the G in the G chord.

In answer to your question; no there isn't a better 12 string than the C63. Great cover!!
