@darkstar3x16 a portuguese ship crashlanded on the coast of japan and the surviving crew carried 3 guns. These guns were very quickly aquired by the japanese. Smiths were then told to make copies of these guns and thats how guns came to Japan. In addition Japan was closed off from the outside world for a few hundred years. So your point is true. The other thing is when Japan met modern (1800s) guns there 16th century rip offs couldnt match.

When you attack by sea you will have to fight your way through the enemy fleet and destroy them, at which point you will be able to land on the beaches and take direct command of your land forces to continue the fight. I think it is a good compromise to full out sea and land battles happening al at once.

I'm a bit lost, what could this mean? You take a hostage and force the others into an alliance? Or are they holding your hostage, because of the alliance trust? Any help?

@Israelpwn Common practice of that time. You forged an 'alliance' with another clan, and changed 'hostage' to ensure the alliance. If anything happened, those hostages were the first to die.

:o beautiful. Nice to see diplomacy is more complex/expanded now (though the menu remains a bit dull =[ ). I always felt like diplomacy in the previous TWs was a bit...limited.

Anyway, so would that mean we traded our generals or important figures (if he attacks me, he loses that general as I kill him), or that we gave them our high-profile prisoners for keep? If the first, would there really be a point in evading war? That general/hostage is "lost" to you anyway...

@Israelpwn high profile people. It might be a lord's son that come to a stronger lord's castle to live there. It didnt help much that time though, those lords had sons to spare .... No point in offering people outside a lord's clan, so no general xchanged.

But I dont think Total war need complex diplomacy and economy management. Leave it to Civ and the like, I play Total War for the thirll of combat on battle fields, dip and eco management can only get complex to a certain degree.

@pimp500000 lets see the RAM of this laptop is a little low. its 2 GB right? so you are in the Minimum Specs of this game so you are probably looking at playing it in low settings.

im not sure about the graphics card since im only familier with ATI graphic cards and some nvidia.

@pimp500000 if it came to the processor speed i would go with the 2.4ghz but everything else i would go with toshiba if i were u. the toshiba has more RAM and a better graphics as far as i know but im not sure if the 1.6ghz quad core could handle the game. it probably could so if i were u i would go with toshiba but you should ask some people in the store you are buying it before you choose

@pimp500000 the game requires a 2.6ghz processor to run so i would go with a dual core that is at or near that, you can get an i7 950 for $400 bucks at 3.2ghz (check eBay for a good gaming PC for around $1500)

@pimp500000 go to google type in "amd shop" then click "notebooks" next find "graphics processor" on the left side of the page and click on "show more" then click on "ATI mobility radeon hd 5470"

take a look at these laptops. they have 4GB memory and a good graphics card and they are in okay price ranges in case you are planning to buy a laptop ( you can also look at other graphic processors in the 5000)

so the laptop you told me about might be able to play it but im guessing you will have lag

@xZak777x starcraft isn't a strategy game it's a tactics game. You memorize build orders and through superior APM adapt to other build orders. Total War games have always been the best strategy games.
