But like I said before, I challenge anyone one to learn about the Catholic church. Learn about it's theology and it's reasoning behind it's beliefs and traditions. "Until then, don't criticize my church as if you know it."

Well, because they're all si... oh, wait. Because the Bible... no. Um, because that's what God w... uh uh. Huh, this is harder than I thought. Um... uh... uh... ooh! I know! Four out of five dentists agree that... darnit, that can't be right.
Huh, I guess I don't know. Why don't you enlighten me?
(unless it really is the dentists. Is it the dentists? I knew it all along *smug*.)
@aeroldoth Homosexual desires are not sinful. Homosexual acts are sinful, just as heterosexuals having sex before marriage is a sin.The natural drive of every living thing is live (survive) and reproduce. So when a man looks at another man or a woman looks at another woman, and thinks that they want to reproduce with them, then there is without a doubt something unatural about the act.
@aeroldoth Abortion is without a doubt murder. As soon as the sperm enters the egg, a human being is born. What do you think it is? A dog? A whale? Yeah you can call the embryo a cluster of cells if you want but it is still a human. Every scientist will tell you it's a human being. So when you kill a human being through abortion, is it not murder?
@aeroldoth The purpose of sexual intercourse in natural law is procreation. Using any contraceptive or any form of one is a violation of natural law, and thus a violation of God's law. Sex before marriage begets the use of contraception. Thus in a sense making it possibly unatural. Not only is sex before marriage a sin it is also harmful to a couple and society.
@aeroldoth Because these things all go against natural law, and all are proven through research and statistics to be harmful to the individual or society as a whole. The church doesn't agree with these things because of the simple answer that, "they're sins". Its reasons are much deeper than that. WHY can't you see that?
ou're suggesting the Church is against these things because of research and statistics?? No, that's not the reason. It's against them because the Bible says so and they believe that's what their god wants. That's the reason. Natural law =/= God's law.
.
I disagree that those things are "proven" to be harmful to the individual or society. However, there are countless things that ARE harmful that we accept in our culture: drinking, smoking, bungee jumping, sweets, war...
One could TRY to make the argument that homosexuality or gay sex is harmful... just as one could try to make the argument that heterosexuality or straight sex is harmful. One could try to do the same with sex before marriage, abortion, or contraception. People try all the time. They never succeed, which is why these discussions never end.
.
Gays don't look at each other wanting to reproduce. You're silly. Try looking up the word, "love".
If you want to invoke Natural Law, then marriage is unnatural; it's a social construct. Will you declare marriage as against Natural Law, and therefore obviously harmful?
.
The natural order of things on a biological level is for human males to impregnate as many females as possible. Do you support orgies, random sex, or polygamous couples?
.
We humans don't live by what our cells tell us, we use our brains. It's how we've created civilizations. If you want to go back to nature, have fun.
@aeroldoth You make no sense. Marriage is a special bond between a man and a woman. We are not mere animals. We are social creatures yet we are also individualistic and spiritualistic. We befriend many people in our lives but only create strong bonds with very few. Since men and women complament eachother perfectly, it is only NATURAL to bond with one person in the intimate sense.
We are mere animals. Highly intelligent, but animals nonetheless. It doesn't change the fact that no other organism on this planet practices marriage. It is a social construct, solely man-made. It is not part of nature.
.
Men and women do NOT complement each other perfectly. Domestic violence? Rape? Divorce? Chauvinism? Sexism? Social oppression around the world still today? Burqa's?
.
As I said, nature would have us sleep around, it is our culture that says to be monogamous.
@aeroldoth We are not "mere animals" We are only animals by our own definition. Who is some scientist to call us "animals"? Monkeys are highly intelligent animals. Sheep, not so much. Humans are spiritual beings because we have souls. All the things you listed are social problems and are sins against one another. Men and women do compliment eachother. Men are more private and independent while woman are more emotional and reliant on others. Just one example of how the two balance eachother out.
"Who is some scientist to call us "animals"? Humans are spiritual beings because we have souls."
.
Who are you to say we aren't? Prove the existence of a soul. Until then, I'll stick with the evidence for us being animals.
.
"When God created Adam"
.
Prove God exists, then prove he created Adam. The FSM says he created several meatballs in the beginning, all of different sizes yet all equally delicious, and all designed to share the same sauce. I guess polygamy is the answer !
@aeroldoth Well then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. It all boils down to whether or not you believe in God. I apologize for things my church might have done to offend you. I pray maybe oneday you'll want to learn Her teachings and find out what we're all about. As for morals, I choose the ones that are milenia old. Not modern morals that are based on the whims of the people.
@aeroldoth When God created Adam, and then said, "It is not good for man to be alone; let us make him a help like unto himself." So he gave him a companion, Eve. He later told them to increase and multiply and fill the Earth. When God created the first humans, he didn't create 2 men, or 1 man and 5 woman, 3 men and one woman. He created 1 each of the opposite sex. So yes, it is natural law because that was how it was structured by God. A "Natural Law Marriage."
Once again Natural Law =/= Chrisitanity. You can say that Christianity believes in Adam and Eve (were they even married?), but that is your religion's teachings, not Natural Law. IIUC, Islam teaches polygamy. Why do you reject Natural Law, or are you rejecting their religion's teachings?
.
It's been my consistent experience that theists continually try to claim objective truth for their subjective beliefs. For me, I prefer morals of the modern day, not millennia old.
Let me be clear that I support marriage. I support people who wish to spend their lives together being able to acquire legal options to facilitate that union. However, it is not my place to decide who can love each other, or can be together. If I can decide for others, they can decide for me. Consenting adults of any stripe should be able to conduct their affairs as they see fit. Live and let live.
.
That doesn't mean that marriage is natural, nor is monogamy.
@aeroldoth I understand live and let live. I feel the same way. I support equal rights for homosexual couples. But I don't think they should be married. You will always have homosexuality, abortions, pedophiles and other things many religions view as sinnful. My big problme with all of it is that now the state is starting to endorse many of these things, whcih only accelerates the decay of society.
I think gays should be married. Here in the US, we already went through a long and painful experience learning that separate is not equal. By the very act of separating people, you create the means for discrimination. The gvt should not be supporting or creating means to discriminate, it should be guaranteeing equality under the law.
.
Society is not decaying, it is evolving, as it always does. With all change, some will welcome it, some won't. I'm guessing you won't.
@aeroldoth I don't think homosexuals should be allowed to marry. However, if it is going to happen, then I believe it should be left to the states, not the federal government. As far as the decay of society, I wish you would learn some history. All of the societal problems we're facing now are repeats of what happened to the Romans. So no, I don't support the direction we're headed
@aeroldoth As far as the Church dealing wih her pedophile priest, she handled it stupidly. But even though she went about it in the wrong way (which she has really been making up for), that doesn't disprove her teachings or her traditions.
When an organization goes to the lengths the Church did to protect thousands of priests raping and abusing thousands of kids in numerous countries, they lose the right to claim moral superiority, particularly in matters sexual.
.
"both belief systems look at the world in completely different ways."
.
True. I have no problem with religions telling their followers what's good-bad. I DO have problems with them claiming those views are objectively true.
@aeroldoth When I speak of natural law in that sense, I'm talking about the physical makeup of our bodies. If you believe that God created the universe and everything in it, then the laws set in motion are his laws. How is natural law any different from God's law? And yes, when a man looks at a woamn and wants to have sex with her, it is the reproductive drive kicking in. Yeah, they might say i's for pleasure, but subconsiously it is the reproductive drive.
That's the problem right there. Sure, if you believe in Jesus, it makes sense that Natural Law = Jesus's Law. It also makes sense that Natural Law = Allah's Law, or Buddha's Law, or Vishnu's Law, or FSM's Law, depending on what you believe. Belief doesn't make something true however.
.
When people around the world speak of Natural Law, they are NOT speaking of Christianity. Christians may be, but they don't get to decide for everybody else.
@aeroldoth Yeah, and thats the root of the division. You either believe in God or you don't . And both belief systems look at the world in completely different ways.
You're confusing biological imperatives with propriety. Yes, it may be that our procreative desires are what fuels sexual interactions, that does not mean however that sex only ever happens for procreation, nor does it mean that it only should.
.
Every sexually active person in the world has had sex for pleasure. To suggest that if a person only wants say, two children, then they should only ever have sex twice in their life, is outlandish.
People have sex as a means of getting closer together and developing intimacy, of establishing or strengthening connections and love. People are attracted to all shapes and sizes of individuals... "there's someone out there for everybody." People aren't choosing partners based on "good child-bearing hips" or "strong shoulders". Do you really not know what love is?
.
Some people prefer blonds or brunettes or gingers, tall or short, thin or fat, black or white, straight or gay. Different tastes
@aeroldoth I know we don't have sex to "just procreate", and for a married couple that's not what it's about. I'm talking about the primal subconsious desires. Why do phermones from the oppisite sex turn us on? Because they let us know that someone else wants to mate.
Once again you confuse biological factors with social ones. Marriage, monogamy, sex only for procreation... these are social constructs.
.
Just as sex isn't only for procreation for married people, it isn't only for procreation for single people. ALL people use it for a variety of things, not just procreation.
.
By saying abortion is murder BUT contraception is also wrong, you deny people the pleasure of sex, as well as having a child-free life. That's evil IMO.
@aeroldoth But you speak of us acting as dogs, that all of us men would screw every woman we could. What about geese? They mate for life, and rarely choose another mate if theres dies. Wolves do too. As do eagles, beavers, angler fish, and many other creatures.
Sure some animals do mate for life. Some sleep around. Some mate for life with the same gender. Some use sex to ease tensions in their community. Some use sex for pleasure. Some only to procreate.
@aeroldoth When a man looks at a woman and is attracted to her hourglass figure, strong hips and large breast, it is because those are sins of a good strong future mother. The same goes for a woman who likes a man with strong features, broad shouldrs and muscles. They are signs of a good protector and provider. All of these thoughts are subconsious. And they're not made up, they're fact.
@aeroldoth What I find funny is that you and a lot of people like you will not look at facts. Do you think that society has gotten better since the start of the sexual revolution? Do you think it's actually getting better? You say the Church shouldn't criticize things it doesn't understand. I don't know what else ther is to understand. Homosexuality is not new. Abortion is not new. Societies that encourage premarital sex and contraception are not new. None of these "great ideas" are new.
Do I think society has gotten better? Better than what? Better than before? Before, when gays were tortured and experimented on? When women were expected to never divorce and take whatever abuse or rape their husbands did to them? When women were shunned for having sex out of wedlock, or died in back-alley abortions? When contraception was only legal for married couples? When pain and suffering was common due to religious teachings?
.
Do I think things are better? Damned straight I do.
@aeroldoth Yeah, your right, some things have changed for the better. Womans rights and the rights of individuals as a whole have improved. And thats a good thing. But what about the rate of divorce? And the % of teens and women having children out of wedlock. The emotional strains put on families and children from divorce? The grade school children who march in school with guns and murder their classmates? And tell me, who did experiments on homsexuals?
No, they aren't new. Neither is religion trying to control people through fear and ignorance. Neither is religion fostering intolerance of others, or violence.
.
When the Church says homosexuality = pedophilia, they don't know what they're talking about. When they excommunicate a 9 yr old girl who gets an abortion after being raped by her father, but not him, they don't know what they're talking about.
When they condemn condoms in Africa, they need to STFU. (cont)
When they blather on about sexual mores while they themselves are virgins, they come across as ignorant fools. When they sit there and do everything in their power to protect and obfuscate investigations of pedophiles, while simultaneously silencing the victims with threats of excommunication, they come across as evil.
My initial comment re the Church and understanding was about respect being a two way street. When the Church feels free to condemn others, they are AUTOMATICALLY allowed to condemn the Church in turn. If the Church wants to call gays sick and twisted, they can call the Church sick and twisted back.
.
Where's that love and compassion again? Where's that fostering mutual respect and bringing humanity together? Where's that respect for God's gift of free will?
@aeroldoth If you think religion is trying to control people tehn I feel sorry for you. You truley are blind. My God is a loving God that has given all of us a free will to do what we want. If we want top love him and follow him, he will open his arms to us. If we want to sin against him and ignore him, he still waits for us with open arms. So I don't know why you think religion fosters intolerance and violence. God to tells us to love one another regardless of who we all are.
@aeroldoth As for the condoms in Africa, when the Church takes such a strong stance on contraceptive across the board, how can it make an exception for Africa? If it did then every other regiona and country in the world would ask for the same thing. Besides, it's not like the priest are down there forcibly keeping the condoms off the men. They are only preaching Gods law.
@aeroldoth And if anybody is trying to control anybody, it's the people of he world trying to force there opinion on the church contrary to God teachings
@aeroldoth As for the the 9 year old, I'd like to hear that story. I've never heard it. However, that if it's true then that is a bishop who is at fault. That does not negate the teachings and traditions of the Church. And yes, child molestation and pedophilia occur far more often among homsexuals than heterosexuals. Look it up.
@aeroldoth The Catholic Church is roughly 2000 years old. And our Jewish cousins religion is a whole lot older than that. They have both seen empires rise and fall and societies come and go. And yet you think they don't understand the things you mentioned? You need to learn a little history. People are no different today than they were all those years ago. We are all the same, still prone to the same errors, and weakend by the same sins.
@aeroldoth If you notice what I wrote before, "Because these things all go against natural law, and all are proven through research and statistics to be harmful to the individual or society as a whole. " As for believing that they aren't harmful, you need to do a little research. Theres planty of info out there that proves it. All of the things you listed, except war, are things that affect the individual, not society in a broad sence.
If you're using Natural Law to refer to God's Law, then all you're doing is playing semantics. You're attempting to take a view on objective truths, claim those truths are actually all Christian, and then claiming Jesus's authority over it all. By claiming things violate Natural Law, what you really mean is that they go against what God wants, and are therefore... dun dun duh... sins.
@aeroldoth Yes yes yes, they're all sins. That's what life is all about. Trying to love your God and not sin against him. What I was getting at before was that its not the simple answer of "it's a sin because the bible tells me so". There is a logical reasoning behind all of these views held by the Church. Are ya happy? I'll say it one more time. They're all sins.
@darkdoink FINALLY, a mature response. I'm personally not Christian, but I was raised Christian, until I became a Wiccan Witch. However, I have respect for people like you, who REASON, rather than just tell people to shut up and get on with it.
Hey, Gilbert. show me where the chruch has been wrong about Sunday. Did you know that ever since the first Sunday after Christ's resurrection (a week to the day), those ordained by Christ and their successors have been consecrating the Eucharist every Sunday? Christians and Muslims have some truth, Jews have absolute truth but their's is imcomplete, but the Catholic Church's truth is full and absolute. I know some of you won't agree with me, but I believe these things because I'm Catholic.
To you people talking crap about hurting the Pope are all just doing it for shock value. You can believe what you want but show some respect for others. To the guy preaching about Christ not dieing on good Friday & you disputing it, big deal! No one really knows. Christians, Muslims & Jews have some truth to them but not absolute. All religions have lied to their people, All religions have committed crimes in one way or another. In the end all religions preach being good to others
You mean, in the end all religions wind up doing good AND evil. Faithful may wish to turn a blind eye to the evil parts, but the rest of us aren't so forgiving, particularly if we're on the receiving end of some of that evil.
Remember the West is dying without Catholicism - it is committing suicide on birth-control with the conivance of its evil secular governance! They mustn't like you - they want to get rid of you so much! Watch out! Time for the return of the CATHOLIC STATE !
Pettydenny24, where in the world do you get your information? You speak of the Catholic Church not having any authority derived from the bible. Who do you think compiled the bible Pettydenny? Learn some history. It wasn't until the 1500's (1500 some odd years after Christ) that Martin Luther changed the bible to suit himself. The bible as we know it was compiled in the late 300's A.D. LOOK IT UP! Who do you think commisioned its writing? THE CATHOLIC CHURCH!
So when the 2 Marys came to his burial site the following morning, the angels told them he had already risen. But the Catholic Church has taught the world that jesus died on Good Friday and was resurrected on early sunday morning. Both are a lie! This would mean that Jesus Christ was not our Passover sacrifice and that he is not the Christ, since they teach He was in the heart of the Earth for a maximum of 2 nights and one day.
christ was not resurrected on sunday because if u read the bible he died late wednesday afternoon and was placed in the heart of the earth, just before sundown on that day. He was resurrected exactly 3 days later on late saturday afternoon, just before sunset.
About Saturday to Sunday. When Christ came he made a new covenant with his followers (and the world). Which overruled the sabbath day. Christ dies on Friday, buried on Saturday (symbolizing the death of the old covenant), and is resurected on Sunday. His resurection symbolizes a new beginning. When Rome, and later European countries adopt Christianty (Catholicism), the beginning of the week is changed to Sunday to symbolize a new life/beginning.
Im no bitch jack ass, I just know my history and I believe in my church and the promises God made to. For example, the "gate of hell shall not prevail against it." And neither shall any of you nay sayers.
As for My 27th 2012, I believe it was Christ himself that said not even he knows the time or the day. How can any one person know?
The Catholic Church is a Scarlet Whore. who gave them the authority to change the sabbath day to Sunday. it sure was Not The God of Abraham. The true sabbath is on Saturday. This is the mark of the beast. The very act of changing the sabbath into Sunday, on the part of the Catholic Church without any authority from the Bible.
this has been a long time coming. the pope is the Antichrist. Gods true church has never had the wealth that the catholic church has. there was some symbolism when the pope dropped his scepter on the ground. when that happened it signified the downfall and destruction of the catholic church by the almighty God. the end time is near and u people dont even know it or believe it. May 27th 2012 Christ will return on earth to rule in God's Kingdom.
I have a favor o ask of everyone who commented on this video. If those of you who bashed the church and the pope think you are so smart, why don't you actually challenge yourselves and do a little reserch on the Catholic church. You all pretend as if your so smart, but if you really were all any kind of knowledgeable people, you would learn about the Catholic religion (and any other subject for that matter), and then write an educated response as to why you agree or disagree with my church.
PoPe GeT FkN OwNeD! Whoz NexT!??? OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for all you skiddies go ahead and reply to this msg with your ever so hateful msg's :)
ha ha good job someone finaly attacked that anti christ bastard hes the anti christ of bible prophecy vicarivs filii dei = 666 and nt only that roam fits every biblical clue false sunday worship realy devil worship saturday is da true biblical sabbath god is our master not the catholic church hw dare they change the sabbath from saturday to sunday in order 2 not gt the mark of da beast we are gona reject sunday worship and keep saturday holy so we have the seal of god and nt da mark of da beast
How can you even say that about this guy he has done more good in one week of his life then you will EVER do. Go kill yourself no one will care. Well maybe the Pope would because hes a nice guy but Im not!!
That Crazy old fart had it coming! I hope he broke something! He's just a fucking bag of liEs! and people who follow him are just as worst! Damned Nazi!...i'm not hating, Just throwing it out there.

It apparently believes pedophiles should be protected and victims silenced.

I guess polygamy is the answer !
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth Well then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. It all boils down to whether or not you believe in God. I apologize for things my church might have done to offend you. I pray maybe oneday you'll want to learn Her teachings and find out what we're all about. As for morals, I choose the ones that are milenia old. Not modern morals that are based on the whims of the people.
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth When God created Adam, and then said, "It is not good for man to be alone; let us make him a help like unto himself." So he gave him a companion, Eve. He later told them to increase and multiply and fill the Earth. When God created the first humans, he didn't create 2 men, or 1 man and 5 woman, 3 men and one woman. He created 1 each of the opposite sex. So yes, it is natural law because that was how it was structured by God. A "Natural Law Marriage."
darkdoink 1 year ago
11)
Once again Natural Law =/= Chrisitanity. You can say that Christianity believes in Adam and Eve (were they even married?), but that is your religion's teachings, not Natural Law. IIUC, Islam teaches polygamy. Why do you reject Natural Law, or are you rejecting their religion's teachings?
.
It's been my consistent experience that theists continually try to claim objective truth for their subjective beliefs. For me, I prefer morals of the modern day, not millennia old.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
2)
Let me be clear that I support marriage. I support people who wish to spend their lives together being able to acquire legal options to facilitate that union. However, it is not my place to decide who can love each other, or can be together. If I can decide for others, they can decide for me. Consenting adults of any stripe should be able to conduct their affairs as they see fit. Live and let live.
.
That doesn't mean that marriage is natural, nor is monogamy.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth I understand live and let live. I feel the same way. I support equal rights for homosexual couples. But I don't think they should be married. You will always have homosexuality, abortions, pedophiles and other things many religions view as sinnful. My big problme with all of it is that now the state is starting to endorse many of these things, whcih only accelerates the decay of society.
darkdoink 1 year ago
12)
I think gays should be married. Here in the US, we already went through a long and painful experience learning that separate is not equal. By the very act of separating people, you create the means for discrimination. The gvt should not be supporting or creating means to discriminate, it should be guaranteeing equality under the law.
.
Society is not decaying, it is evolving, as it always does. With all change, some will welcome it, some won't. I'm guessing you won't.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth I don't think homosexuals should be allowed to marry. However, if it is going to happen, then I believe it should be left to the states, not the federal government. As far as the decay of society, I wish you would learn some history. All of the societal problems we're facing now are repeats of what happened to the Romans. So no, I don't support the direction we're headed
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth As far as the Church dealing wih her pedophile priest, she handled it stupidly. But even though she went about it in the wrong way (which she has really been making up for), that doesn't disprove her teachings or her traditions.
darkdoink 1 year ago
13)
"that doesn't disprove her teachings"
.
I DO have problems with them claiming those views are objectively true.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth When I speak of natural law in that sense, I'm talking about the physical makeup of our bodies. If you believe that God created the universe and everything in it, then the laws set in motion are his laws. How is natural law any different from God's law? And yes, when a man looks at a woamn and wants to have sex with her, it is the reproductive drive kicking in. Yeah, they might say i's for pleasure, but subconsiously it is the reproductive drive.
darkdoink 1 year ago
3)
"If you believe that God created the universe"
.
Christians may be, but they don't get to decide for everybody else.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth Yeah, and thats the root of the division. You either believe in God or you don't . And both belief systems look at the world in completely different ways.
darkdoink 1 year ago
4)
"when a man looks at a woamn"
.
You're confusing biological imperatives with propriety. Yes, it may be that our procreative desires are what fuels sexual interactions, that does not mean however that sex only ever happens for procreation, nor does it mean that it only should.
.
Every sexually active person in the world has had sex for pleasure. To suggest that if a person only wants say, two children, then they should only ever have sex twice in their life, is outlandish.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
5)
People have sex as a means of getting closer together and developing intimacy, of establishing or strengthening connections and love. People are attracted to all shapes and sizes of individuals... "there's someone out there for everybody." People aren't choosing partners based on "good child-bearing hips" or "strong shoulders". Do you really not know what love is?
.
Some people prefer blonds or brunettes or gingers, tall or short, thin or fat, black or white, straight or gay. Different tastes
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth I know we don't have sex to "just procreate", and for a married couple that's not what it's about. I'm talking about the primal subconsious desires. Why do phermones from the oppisite sex turn us on? Because they let us know that someone else wants to mate.
darkdoink 1 year ago
15)
"Why do phermones"
.
That's evil IMO.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth But you speak of us acting as dogs, that all of us men would screw every woman we could. What about geese? They mate for life, and rarely choose another mate if theres dies. Wolves do too. As do eagles, beavers, angler fish, and many other creatures.
darkdoink 1 year ago
14)
Sure some animals do mate for life. Some sleep around. Some mate for life with the same gender. Some use sex to ease tensions in their community. Some use sex for pleasure. Some only to procreate.
.
None of them marry.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth When a man looks at a woman and is attracted to her hourglass figure, strong hips and large breast, it is because those are sins of a good strong future mother. The same goes for a woman who likes a man with strong features, broad shouldrs and muscles. They are signs of a good protector and provider. All of these thoughts are subconsious. And they're not made up, they're fact.
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth What I find funny is that you and a lot of people like you will not look at facts. Do you think that society has gotten better since the start of the sexual revolution? Do you think it's actually getting better? You say the Church shouldn't criticize things it doesn't understand. I don't know what else ther is to understand. Homosexuality is not new. Abortion is not new. Societies that encourage premarital sex and contraception are not new. None of these "great ideas" are new.
darkdoink 1 year ago
6)
Do I think society has gotten better? Better than what? Better than before? Before, when gays were tortured and experimented on? When women were expected to never divorce and take whatever abuse or rape their husbands did to them? When women were shunned for having sex out of wedlock, or died in back-alley abortions? When contraception was only legal for married couples? When pain and suffering was common due to religious teachings?
.
Do I think things are better? Damned straight I do.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth Yeah, your right, some things have changed for the better. Womans rights and the rights of individuals as a whole have improved. And thats a good thing. But what about the rate of divorce? And the % of teens and women having children out of wedlock. The emotional strains put on families and children from divorce? The grade school children who march in school with guns and murder their classmates? And tell me, who did experiments on homsexuals?
darkdoink 1 year ago
7)
"______ is not new."
.
(cont)
aeroldoth 1 year ago
8)
When they blather on about sexual mores while they themselves are virgins, they come across as ignorant fools. When they sit there and do everything in their power to protect and obfuscate investigations of pedophiles, while simultaneously silencing the victims with threats of excommunication, they come across as evil.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
9)
My initial comment re the Church and understanding was about respect being a two way street. When the Church feels free to condemn others, they are AUTOMATICALLY allowed to condemn the Church in turn. If the Church wants to call gays sick and twisted, they can call the Church sick and twisted back.
.
Where's that love and compassion again? Where's that fostering mutual respect and bringing humanity together? Where's that respect for God's gift of free will?
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth Show me the threats. Show me the investigations. Any internet links?
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth If you think religion is trying to control people tehn I feel sorry for you. You truley are blind. My God is a loving God that has given all of us a free will to do what we want. If we want top love him and follow him, he will open his arms to us. If we want to sin against him and ignore him, he still waits for us with open arms. So I don't know why you think religion fosters intolerance and violence. God to tells us to love one another regardless of who we all are.
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth As for the condoms in Africa, when the Church takes such a strong stance on contraceptive across the board, how can it make an exception for Africa? If it did then every other regiona and country in the world would ask for the same thing. Besides, it's not like the priest are down there forcibly keeping the condoms off the men. They are only preaching Gods law.
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth And if anybody is trying to control anybody, it's the people of he world trying to force there opinion on the church contrary to God teachings
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth As for the the 9 year old, I'd like to hear that story. I've never heard it. However, that if it's true then that is a bishop who is at fault. That does not negate the teachings and traditions of the Church. And yes, child molestation and pedophilia occur far more often among homsexuals than heterosexuals. Look it up.
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth The Catholic Church is roughly 2000 years old. And our Jewish cousins religion is a whole lot older than that. They have both seen empires rise and fall and societies come and go. And yet you think they don't understand the things you mentioned? You need to learn a little history. People are no different today than they were all those years ago. We are all the same, still prone to the same errors, and weakend by the same sins.
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth If you notice what I wrote before, "Because these things all go against natural law, and all are proven through research and statistics to be harmful to the individual or society as a whole. " As for believing that they aren't harmful, you need to do a little research. Theres planty of info out there that proves it. All of the things you listed, except war, are things that affect the individual, not society in a broad sence.
darkdoink 1 year ago
@darkdoink
If you're using Natural Law to refer to God's Law, then all you're doing is playing semantics. You're attempting to take a view on objective truths, claim those truths are actually all Christian, and then claiming Jesus's authority over it all. By claiming things violate Natural Law, what you really mean is that they go against what God wants, and are therefore... dun dun duh... sins.
aeroldoth 1 year ago
@aeroldoth Yes yes yes, they're all sins. That's what life is all about. Trying to love your God and not sin against him. What I was getting at before was that its not the simple answer of "it's a sin because the bible tells me so". There is a logical reasoning behind all of these views held by the Church. Are ya happy? I'll say it one more time. They're all sins.
darkdoink 1 year ago
@aeroldoth B
But are you telling me that natural law does not equal Gods law?

TheGILBERTnetwork 2 years ago
You mean, in the end all religions wind up doing good AND evil. Faithful may wish to turn a blind eye to the evil parts, but the rest of us aren't so forgiving, particularly if we're on the receiving end of some of that evil.

This would mean that Jesus Christ was not our Passover sacrifice and that he is not the Christ, since they teach He was in the heart of the Earth for a maximum of 2 nights and one day.
pettydenny24 2 years ago
christ was not resurrected on sunday because if u read the bible he died late wednesday afternoon and was placed in the heart of the earth, just before sundown on that day.

When Rome, and later European countries adopt Christianty (Catholicism), the beginning of the week is changed to Sunday to symbolize a new life/beginning.
darkdoink 2 years ago 2
Im no bitch jack ass, I just know my history and I believe in my church and the promises God made to. For example, the "gate of hell shall not prevail against it." And neither shall any of you nay sayers.
As for My 27th 2012, I believe it was Christ himself that said not even he knows the time or the day. How can any one person know?
darkdoink 2 years ago 2
The Catholic Church is a Scarlet Whore. who gave them the authority to change the sabbath day to Sunday. it sure was Not The God of Abraham. The true sabbath is on Saturday. This is the mark of the beast. The very act of changing the sabbath into Sunday, on the part of the Catholic Church without any authority from the Bible.
pettydenny24 2 years ago
this has been a long time coming. the pope is the Antichrist. Gods true church has never had the wealth that the catholic church has. there was some symbolism when the pope dropped his scepter on the ground. when that happened it signified the downfall and destruction of the catholic church by the almighty God. the end time is near and u people dont even know it or believe it. May 27th 2012 Christ will return on earth to rule in God's Kingdom.
pettydenny24 2 years ago
the pope is not the antichrist, his system his. it's the beast system. at least I'm leaning towards that theory, but who knows for sure.
