  • WOW!!! It sounds like a Heroic Spitfire which has been through a hell of a dogfight against some flying red italian filly over the White Cliffs of Le Mans!!!

In fact... it sounds even better!!!

Awwwwwww.... i'm actually having an eargasm!!!!

  • A.K.A. TheFerrari Killer.

  • @la557 no!

  • @MANG0MAN1214

    Yes, back in the 60's.

  • @la557 ok yes hahahaha ;)

  • weird tire pattern :o

  • @wez1to2 1960s racing tyres. I'd guess Dunlops but I could be wrong. Tyre companies still make batches of 'old racing tyres' every so often to keep the historic racers going.

  • @t45tube

    aha, thnx :D

  • It would have been interesting to see what this car would have done with the 427SOHC. Maybe I'll win the lottery and build one!! hahaha A fella can dream, can't he??

  • honey weres the rest of my car?????

  • Drivers on the wrong side.

  • @chrisb89364 maybe hes european?

  • A combinação perfeita para um homem,... Potência, Força, Beleza, Desempenho, Som e FORD,...

The perfect combination for a man,... Power, Torque, Beauty, Performance, Sound and FORD,...

  • True the original prototype built in 64 was all British, but to make it a winner it went to Shelby American in Calif. There it was reengineered and made a winner. The early MKl's had the small block 289 later MKll & lV's ran the 427. Holman - Moody was involved for 1 year with minimal success. The Shelby campaigned cars won 65 -66 Sebring,65-66-67 Daytona, 66-67 Lemans. The car above is a small block MKl.

  • gostei vejam este foi em aguas de lindoia Ford Gt encontro de carros procure no you tube eu q flimei

  • Was originally going to sport a Lola badge but Mr Ford needed a car fast to take on the Iconic Ferrari at Le Man..

  • Built and designed in Britian, engine is from the usa.

  • Sounds like it needs a little jetting work. These motors sound pretty wicked when smoothed out.

  • 14 people can't drive a car

  • That motor is not even close to optimal tune..

  • the video "500 V8 Ferrari" sounds more vicious to me, and all it is is a little Fiat 500 w/ Ferrari motor

  • You guys are funny. The car was originally powered by engines built by the legendary NASCAR constructor Holman-Moody. Who cares if it had elements from the UK, Italy, or even Zimbabwe for Pete's sake. Enjoy the car and it's history.

    There's nothing like the sound of a powerful racing engine, whether it's a V8, V10, or V12.

  • pure power.

  • this car is like the harley davidson of cars, you know what it is before you see it

  • The only respectful american car.

  • @AlmightyGTR Then the score is USA=1, canada=0.

  • @AlmightyGTR American? Its more british than anything else.

  • @AlmightyGTR

You must not know about the Chaparral 2D or 2J. The 2D won its first attempt at the Nurburgring 1000k and the 2J was so good its design was outlawed.

  • im horny now ;)

  • Dear friend: what gearbox is this?

  • @wagl10 Its called a zf transaxle, its a combo transmission / rear differential, in fact they still make them but revised, standard in many mid engine cars.

  • TANK but AMAZING

  • it hasn't got turbo?

  • @biftasi this is a historic gt40, they never came with a turbo

    Real MUSIC.

    jcarroll330P4@

  • That exhaust is a work of art. It certainly makes it sound amazing too. Are there other examples of cross plane V8's with the odd cylinder out going to the other collector out there?

  • @tkelly27 look up 180 degree headers, they used to be really big in the 60's and 70's

  • This Is Exactly what I need noise and all,

  • Straight Pipes FTW

  • @Bassstringz Actually, no! These were divergent megaphones that worked well with the bundle of snakes exhaust. Diameter at the collectors was a nominal 2.125" with the tube flaring to just over 3.000" at the outlet. For what its worth.

  • ultra brutal extreme terror to the european cars! brutal Ford!

  • there's no other sound like a full race GT-40 with straight 180 header's,

    weber's, Gurney Weslake head's,

    simple Dash, fully adjustable suspension,

Door;s cut into the roof for easy access,

    No other car like it,

  • Ill Take this car ANYWHERE ANYTIME,

yoy can have the fussy Italian exotic's,

    forget them they are trouble,

  • shittin on chevys all day every day

    FUCKIN FORD RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jerbglarbgrhewbgh Where was Ford during the Can-Am days?

  • gotta love that small block scream

  • GT40 one of the best British cars ever made

  • @jackrussell19a um its not britsh man its american

  • @brownera89 Sorry, but it's British. Type GT40 and wiki into google. You'll read for yorself.. it was designed, engineered, paid for, and built in England by Lotus and the world famous racing company Lola, which are both English companies. Lotus & Lola sold the car a couple of years later to ford when they didn't want it anymore. Last time i checked, England was in Great Britain. So i'm very sorry, but it's an english car. It just had a Ford badge on the bonnet!!

    Idiot.

  • @jackrussell19a ur right it was originally from britian but this is a new one jack ass and that didnt come from britian.....IDIOT

  • @brownera89 Sorry retard, but this is a MKIII, so it's British. The New Ford GT is american. There is no such things as a 'new' Ford GT40, unless of course you mean a kit car.

  • @jackrussell19a alright paco if you say so

  • @brownera89 Considering production of the GT40 stopped in 1972, it hasn't been possible to buy a NEW GT40 for 38 years. I am assuming what you are referring to is the Ford GT, which was produced Ford between 2003 and 2006, and is a completely different car, but is modelled on the GT40.

    God you're a fucking retard!!!!!!!!

  • @jackrussell19a ok if you say so paco

  • Comment removed

  • Reading Go Like Hell right now and I'd give anything to have been at those races.

  • JANUSHA is a butt hurt anti american you tube troll.

He goes around looking for American car vid's so he can post negative comments.

  • Bundle-O-SNAKES!!

  • Ill Take this over practically any Ferrari,

    Even a BB,

    more reliable, Less Fussy,

Part's are wayyy easier to get,

    ferrari's are ok

    nice

But you begin to see the flaw;s in the way they were made,

Even the Lambo Miura was copied from the GT-40 design,

  • nothing like ITBs and straight pipes

  • The camera they used and the speakers in my computer don’t do that justice.

  • Good old Ford...get into racing...go like hell for a couple of years and then for no reason.... disappear....ya couldn't depend on them dumasses for nuthin...they ain't no better now than they were in 1964...I was there and I saw it for myself...went to runnin Mopars...they never have quit and now power every top fuel car in the world with their "Hemi" design..

  • yeah well.. they dont have much competition do they. Drag racing is kinda an american only fascination. So Im not surprised that its the only aspect of motorsports that americans still dominate.

  • @Janusha JANUSHA HAS BEEN IN SEVERAL AMERICAN CAR VIDEOS!!!! YET HES FROM NORWAY LOL NORWAY WILL ALWAYS BOW BEFORE AMERICA BECAUSE YOU FUCKS CANT DO SHIT!!!!! EXCEPT TYPE FORD,CHEVY TO FUCKING COMPLAIN LOL!!!! JANUSHA NEEDS LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JANUSHA YOU SAID AMERICANS ARE FULL OF THEMSELVES??? IT SEEMS YOUR FULL OF YOUR OWN SHIT?????

  • @raginroadrunner And Sometime will be replaced with the Ford Boss 500 that John Force's team kick but with in Nitro Funny. Ha Ha.You need to go look at the Mopar sites if you don't like Fords. Lets see now........how much MONEY did the Mopar people have to get on their knees and BEG for? Sorry Ba$+ard$.

  • if anyone doesn't like that noise you don't belong near a car at all!!!

  • @11bikerboy11 Noise? Noise?????? I call that music. A symphony.

  • @11bikerboy11 listen to a lambo much better :)

  • @Tigerbarb202 High end pasta Rockets sound terrific too but once in a while an American V-8 is nice to hear

  • @11bikerboy11 sho nuff :)

  • is that a cross boss set up ?

  • I got goose bumps.

  • is this a real gt40?

  • There is something about the sound and vibration frequencies of a V8. It surely must mimic something that the brain does when you're having sex or something. Somebody should look into it . In fact, I'm sure someone somewhere IS looking into it. And probably getting paid for it.

  • @TopGear801 you cant even spell stupidest right. And you must have a sexual problem if Barbie turns you on

  • i wouldn't give this one to barbie , that tramp gets everything , pink vette and all

  • I agree, she is a Windsor, superb vehicle.

  • sexy that is the supedest name to put on this video what is this a barbi NO it is a 60s racer

  • @TopGear801 go whine somewhere else...

  • there are no need for a radio in a gt 40

  • there is no need for a radio in a gt 40

  • i have a car like that but we neede to fix it up and nice sound wooooooottt

  • This is either a 289 or a 302, not an FE!

  • looks like 289 i'd love to see a side oiler in there

  • Shame Ferrari and Ford ran like girls when the 917 came to Le Mans...

I absolutely LOVED American hardware/V-8's until Dad got the 911, and never looked back.

Still, the GT-40, and the Ford GT were great idea's.

  • American Power Baby!!

  • @Jonrummage GT40 used a Ford FE block. As did the AC. That was not designed by anyone in England buddy.

  • oh the people i would kill to have one of those 7.0L V8's, possibly the most beautiful sounding engine of all time

  • is that the original or a replica ?

and how many bhp does the GT40 have ?

and what does it cost today ?

  • @ Gboy722 :

An original gt40 cost around a million pounds. You have gt40 replicas from south africa for only 60 000 pounds.

  • @Jonrummage : well u said it FORD PAID FOR IT... so FORD had the right to it all ... thanx for reasuring us ^^

  • That sounds like the end of the world!!! INSANE!

  • Thank God for Ford Motor Company.

  • you can thank god all you want for Ford motor company, but the GT40 was designed, engineered and built and paid for in England by English engineers at the Lotus factory...... then the British sold the car to Ford 3 years later. The GT40 is a British car. I suppose you'll be thinking that the AC Cobra is american next?? HaHa!!

  • Actually the AC Cobra is much more American than british.... The relation is the AC Ace is completely gone after Shelby got through with them. Suspension, chassis, powertrain, drivetrain, etc etc etc is all shelby only the body (which shelby drastically altered) is british... thanks

  • @mean98nascar where do you think all of the parts were developed and tested for the cobra? better yet, where do u think the finished product was put through its paces, to make sure it was the best it could be? not america.

  • @9believes9 ferrari runs more with less cilinder cc like this Monster!

  • @9believes9 More than Ford Motor Company, Carrol Shelby ^^

  • @9believes9 youre kidding right? The same Ford motor company that lost the trust of millions of Americans and caused part of the reason our economy is crap right now....yea.....thank god for Ford Motor Company.

  • @elijahinky i believe you are refering to a japanese auto company by the name toyota that lost the trust of millions of people worldwide with their shitty car accelerators.

  • @9believes9 Um, God had nothing to do with this, Thank Henry!

  • 5/5 and faved, great!

  • ManO, Man,,, who need's a V-12 when you have a car that sound's like this

    WOWSIE!!!!

  • tornado sports cars has all the repo parts a person needs for a GT-40 build,

or if you wanna build one of thier replicas,

Including the sometimes thought rare 180 exhaust,

The tornado's GT-40's are true to the original's as they are right hand drive and right hand shifter, and the same seats as the original's had,

You can get any wheels the older ones had,

    even replica BRM wheel's,

and of course the sweet looking 6 spoke Halibrands,

  • Id like to see an older one with the 255 Indy 4 cam in it,

I know they fit, but most of the 4 cammer's went to Indy car's in the 60's and the GT-40's got the 289's with weber's or holley's,

  • I just got a boner

  • engine farts

  • It's like saying why do people run no cats. POWER!

  • i never understood why people run without air filters?

  • Because air filters restrict airflow and therefore power. Running a race car without them for extended periods of time is fine, it's just that you need to change the oil more often because it gets dirtier quicker due to all the dust in the air going straight into the engine.

But the engine works fine without them.

  • @LordJesseD cool, thanks, i come from a world of ATVs and running filterless would be engine suicide!

  • @xbigxredx2009 No problem.

  • maximum air flow

  • those metal pipes sticking up are sirfilters, their called duces

  • not only is it a small block but it has very very rare 180 degree exhaust headder system

  • you can tell its a small block due to the high revs

  • Hi Peta

Im not saying your wrong, I was just telling you how the GT-40 was set up and what your hearing in that engine,

Im not condemming you for anything,

I was just explaining what you hear in this engine vs a regular 289 Ford,

take it easy ok, keep in touch peta ok

    Kirk

  • Petawilling what your hear is the combonation of the racing heads , 180 degree pipes and the probably 3/4 race cam in that 289 with Webers,

the small block block 289 always sounded bettter than the 427 andf it wasnt as heavy either on the car,

  • sweety if you had read my reply to my earlier statement i had already admitted i was wrong and that i had learnt something! please read before you are quick to comment !

  • Ahhh the ferrari killer lives!

  • @xxSkyxStrifexx

I think Enzo shit a brick when this thing won 66 to 69.

  • @ratzinator1 unfortunately it never won any street races lol

    industrial barons are us lolz

  • ... and the americans also, everytime someone remembers them that their best car ever is as american as santa is brazilian... the car is completely developed in britain and by brits

  • Comment removed

  • ...wikipedia... not the most reliable source!

  • @Charl3spereira was i wrong? i admit i did look it up because i love the ford gt, but it did say that the gt 40's were made in britain, but the current ford gt's are made in america

  • @wesajarjar ... true theyre made in america but partly developed in itally, that's why they are so good, same thing with the corvette. they have the american spirit and thee european quality. it's not that american stuff is bad, it's just buil in the wrong way, with the wrong materials, its not that theyre bad, its just that theyre not the appropriate

  • @Charl3spereira what part of the gt is developed in italy? the wikipedia ( stated earlier is not that reliable ) said almost nothing, if not nothing, about italy. it said the GT 40's were made in britain and was developed by britain, but the GT line was abandoned and america took over and started mass producing them.

  • @wesajarjar look at the top gear where they talk about the gt and the gtx1... the gt is as american as its national anthem, wich is written by a brit

  • @Charl3spereira but the GT's now in production are made in America.

  • check the ignition for jeeez sake

revving all day aint gonna change anything

  • except make a big noise and make everybody happy : )

  • The original was a 260 small block. This one looks like a small block since nearly all of the 427s used four-barrel carbs instead of the Webers. Some of the independent cars used 427s and webers. Sounds like a small block.
