@quiteobserver The crap quality, is because of the bad lighting... If you film in the daylight the quality is much higher.

I also have this camera but thinking of upgrading to Hi-Def. I always capture to Cyberlink Powerdirector in AVI format and edit with Powerdirector and Sony Vegas Pro8. I gotta admit it is a great camera.

this has an 1/8000 shutter speed i recorded me lighting a lighter abunch of times in that setting i can't wait to slow it down so i can see the effect
