the ^ is a bend.. So if you see 7 ^ (9), you should bend the 7th fret up to the same pitch of the 9th fret. If there's no brackets, then each note should be bent up, but you'll have to use your ear to figure out how much of a bend...

@grahammez actully in the program i use, the bends are like a line and with an arrow going uppward. i have finally started in a electric guitar course and m teacher said that those were hammer ons. but thanks anyway for answering after 1 month lol
