  • mmh ich hab was unanständiges entdeckt

  • Brass is my favorite metal.

  • Who is the band????

  • anyone know the name of the band he fixed the bus for?

  • I saw him and his family at Katsu-con! They were awesome!

  • Von Slatt is the man!

You know, I've seen quite a bit of old brass plateware at thrift stores. A hidden quarry?

We need more steampunk instruction videos!

  • That man..... absolute bloody legend.

  • where can I purchase any of the items you make ?

  • An icon for all the steampunkers...*-* I wish my future husband was like him! :D

    9:14 "Bella ciao" Miitici!!

  • Steam Punk is very Beautiful I love it.

I think that I may start getting into it more somehow.

  • Amazing.

  • really enjoyabe vid, thank you xxxxx

  • TO THE ANTIQUE STORE!.. i'm going to get me some BRASS! :D

  • don't make the car run on steam. make it electric instead. stylized electric drive has great steampunk credibility. the first cars back in the day were electric. ferdinand porsche made an electric car.

and jives well with Nikola Tesla. future and past in one

  • @DanFrederiksen and if you could get the ozone smell and a few decrotive sparks, dude.

  • I love steam punk.

  • WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING AND ARE THEY HIRING?!?!?!?!?!

  • @TSSNESEOS I THOUGHT THE SAME THING!!!!!!

  • This is great! I didn't know there's a steampunk community until now. Without any prejudice I'd like to know what kind of poeple they are. Would I fit in? I'm a software developer, computer geek and interested in all kinds of visual arts from painting to architecture.

  • You are fantastic!! I am very far from you, in Cyprus (next to Greece) I make brass chandeliers with crystals, but YOU are a master, wish I was in USA to visit your workshop. Well done. You are AMAZING!!

  • This guy has to be rich...xD And obviously, very talented.

*sigh* I was dying watching all the things he has. They are so, so, so cool. *in love*

  • what a genius!

  • I love this whole movement. Great way to enjoy our history while forging the future. Everyone uses their imagination and it is so much fun for everyone.

  • Computers are not steam punk. Now, if it was a huge calculator run by steam...then OK.

There seems to be a big confusion between diesel, tech, and steam punk.

  • @iampicasso85 from my current, and very lacking, understanding steam punk is either using the tech from yesteryear to make a more modern styled item or make a modern item look like an item from antiquity.

  • @corjoth

It's a healthy mix of both my friend. whether it's adding cathode tubes and early circuitry to a pair of flight goggles or antiquating your Ipod

  • Who says "Nerds" aren't cool?! This guy is my new hero!!

  • What's that band called?

  • this guy is so cool!!

  • THIS IS AN AMAZING MAN.

My God, it's all so wonderful.

  • he should start a business.

  • I spy a Massachusetts license plate... :)

  • Man, that's beyond cool--I would love to try steampunk, but I don't have any materials or, skill

  • oh my god this is so cool! I'm new to this Steampunk, and am rapidly becoming obsessed...

  • Rewelacja :) Jestem pod wrażeniem!

  • If I could do this, I'd totally mod my gaming rig.

  • I love that this guy got Famous! Awesome!

  • Saw your video!!! Love it! I do some of this. I made a chair out of a weather ballon inside was freeky. I had a old VW. 50 hp. I put a a higher electric charger and could go anyplace. I want to have a CRANK on a old VW. If battery dies. I want to have a cable of light on my cyclinder to see how hot it's running. I bought a truck load of wood from pallets @ 5 bucks and made vaces, toys, and art. When my snowerblower wouldn't work I took the spark plug out and shot gas right into the cyclinder.

  • humanwine jaja great stuff

  • this is epic!!!

  • Hot Damn! Rock on!!!

  • Beautiful! Amazing! Simply fantastic! I find it interesting to note that people like this good man reflect the ingenuity and industriousness of the people who's time they admire.

  • This is amazing. I love Steampunk, and this guy makes some great stuff.

  • It must be great to have both the time and the money to realize your visions. I envy you. Kudos!

  • Jake Von Slatt is simply brilliant. I adore his work!

  • Cyberpunk>Steampunk

  • They cant be compared, they are 200 years apart.

They both got their unique qualities, but none surpasses the other.

  • cool guy !

  • HE WAS ON G4 ^_^

  • how can someone so clever be so crazy?

  • go to steampunkworkshop(dot)com where you can read about all that stuff by Jake Von Slatt

  • your guiter looks like the guiter hero guiter

  • It is a bit weird to think that no matter your taste theres people who can enjoy the same thing. Thanks for the video - I enjoy taking the insides out of pocket watches and doing different tech things with the shell.

  • 5/5 faved!

  • the band is, baney park

  • ABNEY Park.

  • Slight correction: Some of the background music from the video is from Abney Park. The name of the band that plays at the end of the video isn't mentioned.

  • The music that goes with Jake and his car is HUMANWINE and of course the live footage of the Revolutionary song Bella Ciao (which would/could start a riot in Italy) is also HUMANWINE . It is part two once the story starts to cover the maker feel of steampunk.

Abney Park is shown at the beginning of the clip when they are talking more about the fashion of steampunk.

  • somebody please let me know who the band is, I'd really love to get in touch with them!

    Thanks :D

    -Professor Crow

  • Jake really is a great guy, and a great spokesmen for steampunks everywhere.

  • he was talking about "toner transfer", right?

  • Abney Park is a great band. They did a great cover of Radiohead's "Creep"

  • I've seen that keyboard somewhere on the Internet before - it's really neat!

  • i like the keyboard..can you make a vid on how to make one..

  • Go to his website and he has the entire how-to. Look for "Steampunk Workshop".

  • I love they used music for Abney Park, a steampunk bad all through the background of this video.

The song at the end though, Bella Ciao, is a horrible song written to glorify communism. I was in Italy when someone started performing it on the street and nearly caused an angry riot over it.

  • *music from Abney Park, a steampunk band
