@Norg1 I think that Ireland probably would have joined up with Germany once a succesfull invasion of Britain was obvious or they would have remained neutral because theirs not much strategic advantage to taking Ireland. Iceland on the other hand can be a powerful navy base for the Atlantic so it would likely be invaded. I know that Ireland was pro Central Powers during WWI (when it wasn't independant) Germany may have wanted to attack out of revenge for stealing money from Germany.(Well the IRA)

ajlod, old buddy, Finland was 'different.' They needed instant help when attacked by the USSR (which they defeated with Nazi aid.) Sweden accepted Jews sent to them by Norway and Denmark when pogroms began in those occupied nations. I like Sweden, but don't really carry a brief for them. They did what they had to do. Many of those neutral countries wanted to help Germany and didn't in fear of allies... such as Spain. Others, like Sweden, stayed "neutral" to avoid the allies but collaborated with the NAZI's.
Capturing nations doesn't make you bad. The Athenians did that and I think they were good people, Alexander the Great (Macedonia) captured tons of nations and I'd say he was a good man.

@Norg1 I think that Ireland probably would have joined up with Germany once a succesfull invasion of Britain was obvious or they would have remained neutral because theirs not much strategic advantage to taking Ireland. Iceland on the other hand can be a powerful navy base for the Atlantic so it would likely be invaded. I know that Ireland was pro Central Powers during WWI (when it wasn't independant) Germany may have wanted to attack out of revenge for stealing money from Germany.(Well the IRA)

Although they weren't as technically as advanced as the Germans, the determination and ferocity to drive the invaders out was the turning point in World War II. Without the Soviets, the war wouldn't have been won. The Germans got their asses kicked by the Soviets during world war II, deal with it.

True, but then again Britain didn' even initiate a counter-attack of their own which would've spelled decisive victory against the Germans. While the British were on the defensive, the Russians were on the attack, defeating the enemy despite the huge losses suffered at the hands of the Nazis. Even without the Allies' help, I actually doubt Germany would win. We must remember that Russia alone defeated the bulk of the German forces and were pushing back the Germans all the way to the capital..

ajlod, old buddy, Finland was 'different.' They needed instant help when attacked by the USSR (which they defeated with Nazi aid.) Sweden accepted Jews sent to them by Norway and Denmark when pogroms began in those occupied nations. I like Sweden, but don't really carry a brief for them. They did what they had to do. You would likely have done the same. They were also hospitable to any allied POWs who could reach their shores. The thing is expediency. (They sent 'volunteers' to the Nordland SS)

Many of those neutral countries wanted to help Germany and didn't in fear of allies... such as Spain. Others, like Sweden, stayed "neutral" to avoid the allies but collaborated with the NAZI's.

The Luftwaffe had a lot of good pilots, but their great planes, like the Focke-Wulf FW 190-a were quickly turned into second rate planes compared to RAF; plus the fact Goring was a junkie didn't help the cause.
As for the Waffen-SS... early divisions were elite filled with top notch soldiers but the war machine could not keep suppling them.

The US was the last place on earth Hitler wanted to invade. If anything, he hoped to make peace with the Americans when Germany finally had a firm foothold in Europe and the Soviet Union. Even back then the US was, by far, the world's leading industrial and financial power. Combine this with nearly every citizen having at least one gun and an invasion would've been suicide.

In the interest of proper communication, I would like to point out that negative remarks based on Ethnicity (greek, american, german etc) does not constitute Racism. It is called Nationalism.
In the special case of turks, negative remarks against them constitute exception, since turks are subhuman and do not belong to any of the Races of Man.

But the main parts were forced into the heaviests fights against the enemy...like "firefighters" at the hotspots of the battles. Gestapo and some SS units were in charge to "hunt" behind the lines. But there were really different orders to follow

I know that, the brother of my grandfather was a member of the "Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler" and he was a member of the Totenkopfverbände. But he never was in a KZ and he never did anything to somebody (sorry my english is not very good)

Absolutely. The vast majority of the German Wehrmacht knew nothing of Hitler's plans, including the concentration camps, until after the war. Most of them were trained as regular army, given a rifle, and given orders where to attack.
