  • Man I feel like . . . this could be the coolest scene ever filmed.

  • My alltime favorite funny movie!!

  • if i could be anyone in the world it would be him

  • An Oscar worthy performance sadly overlooked...

  • No matter how i'm feeling, this scene never fails to put a smile on my face. :)

  • Ahhh, Dick Shawn was a classic. Little known fact, he also provided the Snow Miser's voice in The Year Without a Santa Claus.

  • what song is it? :)))))

  • @takotaka27 By Shirelles - 31 flavors aris es simgera :)

  • @takotaka27 Shirelles - Thirty One Flavours :))

  • @elektraa1 madlobaa :))

  • This really is the best dance scene ever.

  • surely the best dance scene forever! my favourite :*

  • This is NUTS! I wish we could all act like Dick Shawn. Maybe this world wouldn't be so damned boring and uptight!

  • @mickeymousebiker1

    My very thought! :D

  • CLASSIC!!!!!

  • I smile every time the Sylvester scenes come on.

  • brilliant! just brilliant!

  • The sexiest part for Barrie Chase is at0:40-0:42. The hips!!

  • Great stuff. Classic. Saw this movie (again) two nights ago. Just had to pay a visit.

  • Do you hear bells, baby?

  • I wish I was born and old enough to see this originally in the Movie Theaters.

  • Around 0:26 - 0:28 Dick Shawn`s first name hangs out of his shorts. Then it happens again around :34-:36. I always try not to notice it.

  • @nathar40 Yeah seriously, talk about a wardrobe malfunction! :-P Well, fortunately I have no problem focusing on Barrie Chase dancing in that sexy black bikini...HOT!

  • I'm high as shit right now and I definitely want to dance like Sylvester right now

  • And we like tutti-frutti best...

  • yes i am working in pattaya thailand the same as him in the movie and my wife back home thinks i am jokeing /why dont wifes not listen to there men/yes we are all working here/ to busy to go home yet i am working

  • Sylvester!!!! Dick Shawn was hilarious. He was even better as L.S.D. in The Producers.

  • I'm pretty sure that's one o' them Femme-bots

  • 0:17 sylvester = nirvana

  • what....the hell :|

  • I need to watch this on my portable device

    Please

    Use to

  • He tells his mama he's working when he's really bumming around. haha

  • So I saw this movie for the first time a couple days ago, and well, what the hell is this scene?

  • How does she keep a straight face?

  • @06film06 "31 Flavors", performed by the Shirelles.

  • Right after the 0.26 mark his shlong peaks out of his shorts a few times....

  • @MrLongisland70 Oh so that's what that was. I feel bad for you for having studied it...

  • You hear bells, Baby?

  • 4 people dont know hoe to dance like them

  • her face... it never moves XD

  • i wish i was born before this came out .Greatest 41 seconds of my life!

  • i wish i could find an mp3 of this faster version of the song (without the phone ringing).. all the mp3s i can find are the original slower version, and you can tell they didn't just speed it up for the movie cuz the shirelles voices stay the same pitch (without getting chipmunky), so i guess they must have recorded a faster version at some point, but i just can't find it.. :-(

  • @crakkerjakk I got the one....

  • @crakkerjakk I can send you

  • @crakkerjakk I feel your pain. I've been looking for years.

  • I don't know about the best dance scene ever, but it has certainly kept me laughing for over 30 years!

  • Why isn't this movie on youtube in full length? It's been ages since i saw this superfilm.

  • u can see his junk

  • I was very surprised to see Barrie Chase (Sylvester's girlfriend) is an accomplished dancer (here with Fred Astaire) -- /watch?v=K6U140S_x_o

Dick Shawn had a memorable bit as 'Snow Miser' in "The Year Without a Santa Claus" -- /watch?v=dPrbccEdI5o

  • @borbetomagus Why would you be surprised? Astaire admitted that Barrie Chase was his favorite dance partner. Sorry Ginger.

  • I can't stop laughing every time I watch this! The funniest moment is when they stop dancing as the music stops!

  • Where did Cosmo Kramer come from.....?

  • I always thought it was so weird that she was so stone-faced, and he was practically rabid. The first time I saw that scene (6 or 7 years old, I think), I thought to myself, "Is this what adults do when the kids aren't around?"

  • 0:26 hahahahaha testicle?

  • Great memory. I remember as a kid being in my Dads embrace on the sofa and us laughing at this scene. Me and all my brothers competing to be close to Dad. What an awesome time that was I sure miss those days and my pop. What a great movie this was.

  • ONE OF THE FUNNIEST FILM EVER MADE HANDS DOWN!!!!

  • THE FUNNIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN OMG THATS SOO COOL! XX

  • Yeah, go! Go, baby!! Go!!!

  • Я три месяца назад впервые увидел этот фильм и очень обрадовался этой сцене. Отличные движения и лихой кураж. Что надо !

  • cocaine is a helluva drug

  • She's trying so hard not to laugh

  • One of my personal favorite scenes is the calculating of the shares scene.

...you get 3 shares for being 3 people. One share for having the car, one share for going down and looking at the wreck, and three more shares for being three more people in the car. Which would give you a total of 8 shares. Giving you $112,000.

We're never going to get anywhere listening to this old bag.

    HOW DARE YOU!

One more funny remark from you. AH this is hopeless.

    It's every man for himself.

  • What kind of a chap is this brother-in-law of yours? He's a nut.

  • @leafyutube I say that would be the last time anyone ever heard from dear old Reggie, what. Cheers!

  • ha ha ha, "It;s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" is one of the best films ever made!!!

  • It's harder than it looks!!

  • Classic Movie...Too Fkn Funny!!!!

  • absolute hilarity ensues at :28 LMFAO

  • Perfect

  • Short shorts are ..... too short. o___o

  • Dick Shawn was one of most unrated talents of the 60s and 70s. This scene is my all-time favorite. Hilarious.

  • @ATRUEAMERICAN10000 Dick was great in the Producers, too.

  • @ATRUEAMERICAN10000

I preferred him in "The Producers", myself, but this was a close second.

  • @ATRUEAMERICAN10000

    I agree!

  • They dont make em like Dick Shawn any more . This scene nevers fails to make me smile . He had some of the classic lines in this movie . Just wish I could dance like him .

  • Seriously, what 4 trolls did not like this?

  • why does she look so serious? i thought she was a robot at first lol

  • @yaycelesteyay She's EUROPEAN. That's the way they are. LOL

  • @qqrk1372 European? Barrie Chase was born on Long Island, New York.

There's nothing in this scene about her character being European either.

  • @scotpens I don't give a damn where she's from. She's got "EURO TRASH" written all over her. LOL

  • @yaycelesteyay It's probably the only way she could get through the scene without laughing. I would love to see the out takes of that scene. Take 61 Roll em. Cut. Think death and pain and sorrow and destruction.

You just came home from a hard days work and found your man in bed with your best friend.

    Now dance.

Anyway it's better that way she looks like she has an edge and went out and got a tattoo that day.

If there ever is a comedy that deserves a commentary track it's that one.

  • Beyond genius. Of course, the chick is smokin' hot but old Dick's got a 6-pack going on too. I will now scour You Tube for the famous line by Sylvester, "Now you all heard what mama said".

    lmao

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW And the most famous line about Sylvester: "What kind of a chap is this brother in law of yours"? - "He's a nut, why"?

  • Comment removed

  • Dick (Sylvester) Shawn December 1, 1923 – April 17, 1987

Dick died on stage performing a comic routine. He was a class act. R.I.P.

  • Thanks for posting. One of the best, if not best, scenes in the movie.

  • I loved her totally bored expression and the way she never makes eye contact with him.

  • This Is The Best Reason Ever For Not Answering The Phone!

  • Hilarious! I like the Tiki

  • @BananaJSSI I just gotta equip my pad just like his.

  • @dashripr Right on!

  • pretty funny, those were the days, they don't movies like they used too

  • Damn and I thought I was on drug's?... LMFAO!

  • Quagmires cousin

  • I hate to be the one to point this out, but once you see it, you'll never miss it again. Look between Sylvester's legs at :0:27. It's even more pronounced on a bigger screen too.

  • @Psychoderelict01 Dammit. Now I can't unsee it.

  • @Psychoderelict01

    Oh noes, I can't believe I never noticed that.LOL

  • the surfing life!

  • :)):)):))

  • One of the best north american comedies of all-time (63'). Till this day it has the most comedians fet. in one film. The reason for the women not showing any face expression is kuz it's 60's humor. Don't know the name of the dance but deff a sub ver. of the twist. So dig the Shirelles!!!!

  • Hilarious!

  • I also love when it goes back to them later...still dancing.

  • sylvester=kramer from seinfeld

  • @mrl2743 sylvester = beavis of Beavis and Butthead

  • He''s GOTTA be home, he NEVER gets up this early!

  • @reprobacious Ha Ha.

Sylvester can you hear me? There's a whole fortune in cash and you can get it before anybody gets it, but you got to hurry, do you hear? Of course I'm all right,

    SYLVESTER??

  • @reprobacious You hear bells baby?

  • Barrie Chase is awsome, she was a great serious dancer.

  • Everyone notices Sylvester, but watch the girl. She has NO expression its hilarious.

  • What kind of dance is that?

  • "now you're cooking on the front burner" became a popular phrase in my youth because of this film.

  • I'm workin'!

  • way before the pulp fiction dance scene, we had THIS :)

  • home girl's face did not budge ONE INCH!!! This scene is hilarious!

  • Every time this film came on TV I'd think, "Please, somebody remake this with Jim Carrey as Sylvester."

  • @drobin3149 would'nt be as funny, you can redo this movie or

replace the caraters. ive been watching this since is was 11yrs old

and now im 50 and its still funny as hell

    boomcc1

  • @boomcc1 They can't remake this movie at all. Like you can't remake City Lights. But you could make a movie about the making of this movie. Like the movie RKO281. The movie about the making of Citizen Kane. It was really good. Liev Schreiber played Orsen Wells.

  • I thought Dick Shawn stole the movie, with his portrayal of Sylvester.

  • i once pulled this dance on lyndsey lohan at a club. i don't think she dug it.

  • Great movie, girl is so sexy. I think Dick Shawn needs some underwear, his junk makes a quick cameo in this clip.

  • @Jcyanks1 That girl is Barrie Chase. She is alive and well and living in Venice, Ca. Astaire said she was the best dancer he ever danced with!

  • @Jcyanks1 I couldn't stop laughing at your comment. I've seen this movie god knows how many times, but I never noticed Dick's, uh, dick, before.

  • SYLVESTER WAS THE COOLEST. ALWAYS WANTED TO BE AS COOL AS SYLVESTER WHEN I GREW UP!

  • Sylvester is the BEST!

  • that is jeffery and balinda

  • telephone!!!!!!!!

  • i fergot the name of this dance there doing anyonr know ? :)

  • I'm coming momma !

  • Dick Shawn and Jonathan Winters owned this movie. Everyone else was running just to keep up.

  • @cdfreester I think Phil Silvers held his own too. As well as Ethel Merman. If there was more screen time with Phil Silvers and Don Knotts it would have been the Phil Silvers Don Knotts movie with Dick Shawn, Ethel Merman and the Three Stooges.

What is this a staring contest. Come on, move move will you kid. Come on.

  • @nellgwen48 Yes, Phil was fine, too. Everyone basically held up their end, which is what made this movie so good. But Phil was basically doing his same old Sgt. Bilko schtick. When Peter Falk was the guest on Inside the Actor's Studio, he said the one person on that set who kept EVERYone laughing was Jonathan Winters, and I believe it.

  • @cdfreester I absolutely I believe it. I just have to look at him and I start laughing. There are several clips on you tube where Jonathan appears on various T.V. shows and nobody can keep it together. If you haven't seen it check out the one where he is on the Andy Williams show. You will lose it from laughing. Lets Play swords.

  • @nellgwen48 THAT. THAT"S A LITTLE STREAM!

  • @cdfreester But that's a little girl's bike. That's for a little girl.

  • By the look on that chick's face, I'd say she's being held there against her will.

  • That's it baby! Don't stop now! Go! WAHHH!

  • I know a better dance scene-

"Ulla......go to work" from the original 1968 version of "The Producers"

  • do you here bells baby!! great post!!

  • Dick Shawn must have had the best comics death in the whole of History.

    He would have ROFLD.

  • Thats what i am like on ginseng lol

  • yea but the dancing, is part of what makes the scene so funny...dont you think?

  • one of my favourite movies of all time. Sylvester is King!

  • ahahah brilliant, brilliant, the whole movie is fucking brilliant

  • yawn.

  • Comment removed

  • @28mark The dancing I mean. They must have been repressed in the 50s haha

  • @flamingvacuumcleaner 60's movie, actually.

  • best dance scene ever!!!!

  • hahahaha holy shit,if you cannot see comedy in this you have no fucking class whattsoever

  • this scene was filmed in my dad's beach house in sunset beach! it was an old look out tower and still had the telescope upstairs that my brother and i would pretend to see submarines out at sea...

  • this is kinda vietnam era right lol.

  • @rbonilla18 Before Vietnam.

  • best movie evear

  • 0:27 that part at 29 is so freaking funny.

  • This whole movie is such a masterpiece! Though I saw it at a cinema the first time, it was great to see the DVD recently and the great making-of documentary. I sure hope those idiots in H'wood don;t try to remake this. For one thing, we have very few comics like these any more. It would take 40 SNL comics just to equal the legendary Jonathan Winters. I wish this movie would return to being shown at cinemas. It would make a perfect midnight movie!

  • without a doubt one of the best films of all time, my favorite utube clip is the "tyler fizgerald one its hysterical!

  • @otheroshow He must have an eye cold,

  • what is also funny is the chick is just staring of into space concentrating on the music

  • @zardozqq If you watch this carefully especially on a big screen. And think what if she was like that because she had to keep from laughing. There is a split second look on her face where she comes close to blowing it. She was a professional dancer and what she was required to do in that scene she could do in her sleep. All her concentration was spent on trying not to laugh. It's a theory.

  • @nellgwen48 Yes, Barrie Chase was a superb dancer, and this scene certainly didn't challenge her terpsichorean skills. But it did give us a chance to see quite a lot of her gorgeous body!

She and Dick Shawn both played it like they were on drugs — but not the same drug.

  • @scotpens A religious experience between a goddess and a nut.

  • you have to view the time this film was made. it is hollywood poking fun at itself and california and how the rest of the country viewed califonia as filled with nuts, crazies a coo coo kind of place.

  • Is he on drugs?

  • this movie is soooo funny

i think this is the best dance scene EVER

    LMAO

  • @happiihoneii second to Napoleon's dance scene

  • is this guy cast perfectly for this part.

  • So so good. Everything about it. The beach bums pad on the beach, the slightly vacuous chick, Sylvesters hairy chest, the trunks, the swimming cossie, the ludicrously delicious dance routine and Sylvester himself with all that contorted twisted comical hysterical rage pent up inside him (no doubt because of being the son to his wonderfully appauling on set mother) I wouldn't change anything in this film. Perfect. Just perfect.
