I've done what you said to do but when you go back into 3d view (After you imported the python script) I can't see any of those black tracking points/dots... Any help?

When i am importing my texture into blender (version 2.5)

and clicking "Run Script" an error window pop up what says:

"Python Script fail, look in the console for now".

When the window pop up Blender mark the place in my text where it´s written

"scene.set_frame(1)".

What am I doing wrong pleace help me!

@Miatpi I have gotten through this problem many many times. The 2.5 version of Blender doesn't support the voodoo python script anymore. The other way around is a bit more complex so here is what to do: Open blender 2.49 and import the python script from there, then save it as a project file. Now open blender 2.5 and import that 2.49 project file into the blender 2.5 and your tracking data (point clouds, etc) should be in the blender 2.5 program the rest is history from that point.

I FIGURED IT OUT. The reason the scripts don't work, is because voodoo is not up to date. (Kinda) It 2.5x and up script will only work with versions like 2.53 and 2.52 etc. The lower ones work great with 2.49.

f the script doesn't work you can either use that website below (which didn't work for me even in 2.57) or use a script that allows you to import the camera! Just google voodoo camera import script and it's like one of the first things

For people having problems using Blender 2.57, you can fix your script here (the one generated by Voodoo):

^ (remove spaces in middle)

1. Remove all text on the top field

2. Paste your script and press fix

3. Select all and go replace with the new script in Blender

@pwnage2own I did. When I brought it back to Blender 2.58 and ran the script, the points were way off. It was just a cloud. And the animation made no sense.

@Offy284 Yeah, this was a while ago, but google 'voofoofixer' and the third link you see which starts with the title 'Camera Tracked Rocket' click on that, read over that forum thread it might by useful. I've actually moved on to using Cinema 4D and have yet to try matchmoving with Cinema 4D with a tracker.

@Blendiv this is just a guess, but what version of blender are you using? the last version of voodoo according to their webpage supports blender 2.53... hmm I saw a question on the digilab forum that could be related [link was not allowed by youtube] That's all I have I hope that helps, for future reference youtube is generally not the best place to ask tech questions, and without specific information it's impossible for anyone to "figure it out" for you

Which version of Voodoo did you use? I've tried 1.0.1 and (beta) 1.1, but after ~100 frames (it varies) the camera data goes static. This happens in both LW and Blender. Thanks.

i've got this problem: I import the python script file into the text editor and run the script. It plays until frame 81 and then the camera just stops, not moving any more. Please help me!

because maybe you had 81 frames on the video. not 250. When you go to the last button "Render Button" Below Animate you will see the very last column where it says "Start: 1" "End : 250" Just change the end from 250 to 81 and you should be fine. Also try to match the frame rate of your video.

1.Your footage was too shaky

If you have after effects you can composite the shadow in After Effects

Hey there Jordan. To create a shadow:

* Create a ground / wall plane in Blender

* Create a new material for this object

* From the shaders tab (in materials), select OnlyShad.

What this will do is make the plane completely transparent except for areas where shadow falls on the plane.

Hey nice tutorial, im intermediate with blender been using it for some time now. i have an issue when i load the python script im getting the camera and all but not those tracking dots. i have tryed on ubuntu and windows i get the same result. no tracking dots i guess is the reason its not tracking anything when i animate.

Ummm it depends. If your using Yafray then it will take a long time. If your usinf Internal Blender then it should take very long. Internal Blender is faster than Yafray the ram eater. So it really depends on the model, sets, atmosphere, reflection, transparentsy and etc.

But just so you know, a .RAR file is an archive. Like a .ZIP file. The best tool for this is Shareware and can be used forever without worrying about a license.

Google "WinRAR" and download it, Install it, then right click on the .RAR file and choose one of the extract options.

Go to the Buttons Window -> Scene (shortkey: F10)

In the Format Tab there is a dropdown menu. If you open it, you should see at the top of the dropdown menu: "save image as:"

Now choose Targa.

Now click "Do sequence" in the Anim tab.

Load your vid into the Sequence Editor and animate.
