  • @miamiwax Don't give up just yet. I love the roots music and I'm dedicating my life to bringing it back. Let Jah Be Praised.

  • Black Ark at his best! Congo's and Lee Perry.

  • This tune is why Scratch is known as the musical genius. Some call him ''mad'' but I know he is just ''musically passionate'', amazing amazing tune!!!

  • Beautiful

  • So much soul... great track

  • In answer to your question. The lyrics are a slightly paraphrased verse of Isaiah 43:6 (King James Version). Many roots reggae classics are liberally sprinkled with biblical quotes and this is no exception. This album is the simply the greatest reggae album and one of the best of any genre ever.

Is that beautiful line at 2.54 "Send my sons from afar, and my daughters from the end of the world... " ???

  • Is that beautiful line at 2.54 "Send my sons from afar, and my daughters from the end of the world... " ??? Genius lyrics and such a beautiful riddim :)

  • Original Congos on the new Groundation album out now..."Here I Am"

  • their music also came out in a jet-li movie. forgot waht it was called but i know the movie starts with a dread taxi driver and jet-li in the back. when that movie came out thats when i started to find more about them.

  • Attention to the echoes...gives it a mysterious ghostlike effect...

and the congos relaxed singing, with one of them with verges of losing control...

  • This song is so beautiful it is almost painful in a weird way. I don't know of any words that can describe how this song makes me feel. The day someone makes a better album than this i will eat my hat.

  • You are so spot on, this song (as is everything on Heart of the Congos) is very real, the lyrics speak of some serious issues & when married to the most majestic harmony the effect is very powerful. I discovered the Congos around 10 years ago, it pulled me out from a very negative time in my life. I listen to their music almost every day, it moves & inspires me in exactly the same ways every time i hear it, i never tire of these sounds, so very special.

  • Grreat tune by the Congo's

  • This track is heavenly..Wow..Iam just discovering the Congos..Amazing :D!

  • I would urge you to buy "Heart of the Congos", there is no other album that comes near it. Also, if you love this then try Burnings Spear's older stuff, tis fantastic. The Royals are also pretty special.

  • Regge seems to clean the soul and relax.

    All pains mysteriouslly dissapear?

Is there some kind of subliminal messaging?

  • No sublimiminal messaging! Just pure music from the heart! Its good for the soul!

    Respect from Canada!!

  • Hahaha, i like it. Funny you should say that, listening to Congos & Burning Spear helped heal my anxiety attacks & got me through a nervous breakdown. Without Black Reggae music i don't know where i would have ended up. I love the Dread, sweet spititual sounds, healing & uplifting, there is no music like it. Jah is my Driver x

  • deep deep roots, big tune.

  • And also love the Harmonies on this.

  • kick ass song

  • nuff said...

  • damn easily one of the best roots lp ever made.. scratch is a brill producer and these dudes are such vocal talents!!

  • Sweet....memories... A lot of other groups besides Bob Marley and the Wailers; had the "gift" of harmony

  • sweetness is the sound of roots...I hum and sing these songs all day at work, nobody else knows what I'm singing-they need schooled!

  • I love the Congos. most excellent !
