I been in dobells once, bought a few in 1970,s mostly had to get stuff via mail.
Eventually got around 650 or so LPs, invaluable collection from early country bluesto late 50,s and a bit beyond, + lts or real R & B, not todays junk.
Love King Solomon, better than some of the big names too me.
Yeah those ole cardboard covers, shots of The South in the 1920, superb. Im in West Yorks, UK.
Your doin a great job Zen, postin this stuff, which has been around and available for so many years, but obviously some folks just have not found it, like I did almost 50 years ago, you too I expect.
years ago I used to travel to london looking in specialist record shops for Blues and now people can find it at the click of a mouse....oh well thats progress..
I also built collection by mail order, Red Lick records in Wales, way back in 60,70, Dobells, Peter Russels, and a good few from limited editions reissues of 78,s in Blues Unlimited, what a thrill to see these covers, and all these obscure artists.. How abot those superb PWB LP,s, or the Down With The Game label. Happy times.
Tottenham Court road was a good hunting ground for records and guitars.I remember Dobells well and they had a great secondhand selection. Its all changed there now and not for the better !
hafta remember that, next time I lose my slide bar.........thanks for bringing such treats to our ears!!!!Wowee!!!!!I think I'm a fan of Joe Holmes.........what singing!!!
Just thanks for posting this

Ahah The Thames Delta, hot steamy long & wide. Now where have I heard that before?
Trub is todays blues doesnt seem the same, Paul Jones show for example breaks the trade descriptions act in my humble opinion,

Im to far away from London, up north as they say, rather than in the deep south eh.
Yorkshire to be exact.
Ill keep on making suggestions on tracks if thats OK, spread the word, how about Boy Green on that winderful Flyright LP Play My Jukebox".

your suggestions are welcome. I've made it a mission to try and bring this great music to people who otherwise would never hear it.
I'm in deepest Essex so London is in fairly easy reach.
