this video has been really useful, I now know a lot more tips that I didn't know about before. :) However, since I've been studied english for more than 5 years and I'm quite used to British accent when speaking my main concern is not to sound as an American person. I want to know if I my constant use of british accent when answering speaking questions will affect my score. (waRr against waTer). please give me some recommendations or suggestions on this. TOEFL does not evaluate the pronunciation, at least, it's what the official toefl guide says.

The last time I did TOEFL iBT, for the firts time, and without any preparation, I got 95. I got 26 in reading, 29 in listening, 19 in speaking and 21 in writing. I've never lived in an English speaking country.

hello everyone i took the test and the i had like 5 reading passages which was hard it was not even similar like what you buy it on practice tests,listening section was longer and has words you never heard speaking and writing was okay my advice to everyone is to practice, practice and practice. if you cannot read or foccuss while other person is speaking then you need to work on that because while one person is trying to foccuse on reading section other person is in speaking section.

I think this a big issue about the IBT Toefl. What are they trying to test with this unapropriated environment? I consider the noisy and the disturb environment as unaproprieted condition to test a language skills.

WELL...............I got a 87/120 my university only wants 80 so sure ya I passed and I didnt use dosa's technique.........but surprisingly my highest marks were in the speaking exame (( 23/30 )) I thin that the graders are really understanding .

I think the keyword is make things up, in case that you dont even know how to answer it, for example. A movie or book that had influence in your life, decribe it and give detail how it influenced your life. Then for those people who don't really have a movie or book that had influenced their life, will have to make it up, in 15 second this case.. so the keyword is, practice with making things up and blah blah, watch more tv and steal good lines from the movies :P
