  • i can not stop watching this!

  • i'ver seriously been watching this since 9pm....and it's 1:07 am now

  • For those who art not artists, then u just experienced what an artists is and feels like, because this video is painfully accurate.

  • jack huh reminds me more of oggie boggie lol and love these dark little short films very touching and beautiful :3 x

  • *sighes* i can relate to this from high school......

  • I'm finding myself completely captivated by the Chimerascope films and watch them over and over. The animation is breathtaking and the stories portrayed are thought provoking and very touching.

  • The best of Chimerascope, in my opinion.

  • haha fuck yeah i know that feeling =D

  • What the hell did I just watch...? o _o;

  • 0:55 Lunch:Part 2

  • I love Danny Elfman's Voice :D

  • just incredible....!!!!! love it

  • 1 person wanted to be different

  • i really am addicted to this video. :]

  • Love it. I don't think any other form of animation could ever get across the creepiness and gross-out factor as stop motion. Great story, great execution.

  • The poetry in this is so very true.I can relate.Thanks.

  • i heard that Voltaire makes animations too and i was like "OMG VOLTAIRE JUST HOW COOLER CAN YOU GET!?!?!?!?!"

  • saw this earlier tonight at phoenix fearcon, my fav short of the lot! really well done!

  • Quite brilliant! A fitting analogy for the Internet too.

  • Fucking Rad! Since Tim Burton is now with disney, (no disrespect, just lame)!

We needed some well done creative shit!

  • Your work is amazing; and I must say that is how us artists think... It's an interesting experience; certainly..

It's like seeing the world with another set of eyes different than the 'average'. It may cause it's problems.. but it also has its uses..

  • I like weird stuff like this; it's really inspiring! I understand this completely.

  • As much as I love Voltaire's work, I didn't really like this movie.

Not my thing, I guess. :U

  • I haven´t seen such beautiful and captivating video art in same time

  • How true, how sadly true

  • This video describes my life as a video producer. coming up with what you think is good and people quickly give you the smack down. But they wont stop me, I will come up with something different and better..

  • I think this video could apply to me, in the sense that I am my own critic, and I am feeding my criticism by abandoning projects. It's better to have SOMETHING than have a bunch of projects that "aren't good enough".

  • A bit disturbing, but nonetheless awesome video. Very poetic.

  • Sounds like Spike from Cowboy Bebop.

    Twas a good video though

and it held quite a big of truth.

    I'm honestly impressed

  • a truly amazing combination of artwork, poetry and music

  • This was the first of V-Sama's Chimerascopes that I had ever seen...and while I was a tad disturbed, I was equally fascinated and wowed by the quality of his work. Ah...how I love him and his jack-of-all-tradedness. :3

  • Notice that that cat has 9 lives and 9 eyes.........

  • Beautiful!

  • I always watch this over and over everyday :) This is so awsome! New Tim Burton!

  • Says so much truth.

  • Bravo!

  • This is a beautiful piece Voltaire! It speaks to my soul :)

  • This short is actually very beautifully well done. I love the comparisson of artists to a cat. It is pretty true. Though I'm only a teenager and people tend to love my work, it's usually only because they can't do better themselves and aren't real critics, or are just trying to make me feel good.

Everyone who made this video is amazing!! Wonderful short

  • Brilliant!

  • True yet false. I myself get this all the time. Tis only opinion yet opinions are wrong. All of them, yours and mine. Its of course the cycle of life and death. People say they understand then criticize it when they didn't even understand. Its like looking at a bird and saying "that thing has no arms and a screwed up nose so its a horrible!!! Lets kill them!" and eventually the dodo's died out.

  • For Awesomeness's sake!! 3 of my Idols workings together!

  • Simply amazing!

  • I love Voltaire so much!!! I wish he'd come show his work in Maine sometime. It'd make my whole life.

  • what less could be expected ^ ^

  • This was by far the best film at the Chicago horror film festival!

  • I love it cause it's true, this is the life of an artist

  • I would comment something witty and flattering, but it wouldn't be enough to give this video what it deserves. Fortunately, all the awards and nominations listed in the description almost do enough.

  • Oh Gosh !!! Great job !!!

  • Wow, i this this is great! great job to you Voltaire, for putting this together and also thanks to Danny Elfman for the narration! it really sounds and looks great!

  • No fucking way. Voltaire + Danny Elfman? Hardcore.

  • I relate ALOT to this mummified cat, people only notice the flaws of my ideas and art, instead of appriciate the main idea. If you feel the same, thumbs up?

  • oh yes, I really really really like it!!!!!

    I hope you'll make more

  • EPIC!!!!

  • 5 stars, oh wait I forgot to ad 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 at the end

  • Words can not describe how much I fucking love this!

  • Voltaire + Rasputina + Danny Elfman = Awesome!

  • The like button does not justifiably express myself with how much I really like this.

  • Side note: Been watching a lot of interesting stuff lately about how the art gallery scene has become ruined by perpetual meaningless picture-making exercises to sell crap to ignorant rich folk playing a high-end version of the comic book speculation that nearly killed the mainstream comic book industry in the 90s. Art criticism has been invariably affected by this as well. So you will see lots of brilliant artists ignored while too much attention is given to dumb diamond covered skulls.

  • Also it always tickles me whenever I find work that critics deem as 'crap' that is actually quite good. Whether it be gallery art, film, comics, games, music or what have you. It's just that the critics didn't 'get' it, and sifting through their reasoning it usually comes down to them largely simply not being creative people, and only working with a frame of reference of what has come previously - so they tend to be most pleased by amped up rehashes they erroneously call innovative.

  • Lovin' the svankmajer "Alice" reference with the skulls-and-spines critics.

  • Maaaaannn, I could Imagine Elfman working together with Voltaire better than with Tim Burton, it would be awesome

  • Might there perhaps be any musical collaborations between you and Mr. Elfman?

  • So true!

  • A very true story, good work!

  • my all time fav!!!!!!

  • BRILLIANT! <3

  • Great work, V!

  • Wonderful Voltaire! Loved it when it originally came out & I am so happy it has finally come to youtube!
