  • My girlfriend I started dating loves Star Wars to death. I am falling in love with her by every minute. What is the consensus of if she tells me "I love you", I say "I know". Because its badass and she would recognize the line. Then of course right after, reciprocate with a "i love you too"

    Bad idea?

  • @Heifsin85 perhaps not the first time you say it, maybe the second time? me and my boyfriend do it as like a game, to see if one will remember, but its a little cruel to do it that first time. or if you say "i love you" first, and she says "i love you too" and then you say "i know". very cute idea though ;)

  • @MrTrishness You are completely right. Thanks for the tip :]. I like your idea. I say it first, then she says it, then I say I know. That is perfect!!!!

  • Just remembering this moment makes me want to try the Smuggler class on SWTOR all the more.

  • More passion and emotion in 40 seconds than all the prequels combined!

  • Here's where I draw the line on reality vs fiction. In real life, had Han said that to his woman before he was about to be frozen in carbonite she'd would've said 'Oh you know huh!? You know. Well then they can keep ya on ice CAPTAIN!!!' And there wouldn't be no daring rescue at Jabba's palace or sexy slave outfits on Jabba's barge. Leia would've stayed home and watched Jersey Shore while texting on her phone... ;-)

  • @Jrazdtothe2

Do you play video games? Because the same thing happened in a video game called Ultimate Spider-Man. Mary Jane Watson told Peter Parker, "I love you," and he said, "I know," just like in this damn Star Wars movie.

  • @TheFatBiowareNerd No I don't play video games too often anymore. :-)

  • @Jrazdtothe2

Yeah, no fucking shit. I had an educated guess that you weren't the type to play video games. I was only half curious, or about a third of the way curious, it was mostly a rhetorical question. :P

  • @TheFatBiowareNerd Don't get mad! :-D

  • @Jrazdtothe2

    Yeah, whatever.

  • @Jrazdtothe2 That doesn't sound very realistic, sorry.

  • @kaisergrendel Ya reckon? The next time a woman whose not a relative(if you're a man) tells you "I love you" reply back with 'I know' and post their reaction in this thread.

  • @Jrazdtothe2 When I happen to find a princess, help her win a battle and save her rebellion, save a commander of her contingent like a boss by stuffing him into a tauntaun, escape from a giant space worm together, make her fall in love with my roguish charm and choose to show confidence instead of fear just before getting carbon frozen, and then get rescued, I'll get back to you.

If I don't, just assume you were right and she left me to rot in my carbon block.

  • @Jrazdtothe2 Because of Han I'd be ok with a guy just saying I know after I told them that I loved them. If i never saw star wars then It'd be a different story. :)

  • Has to be the coolest thing to reply to a woman, after she tells you "I Love You"

  • In Twilight, pages are written in response to "I love you" - In Star Wars, they say "I know"... A simpler time, a happier time in a galaxy far, far away.

  • That's why we love Star Wars. Best scene in thw whole saga.

  • Happy Valentines Day guys , for those alone, be strong, someday :)

  • The most romantic scene EVER. :)

  • Happy Valentines' day!

    Nope. Carbonited. *fwooooosh*

  • It's sad that they had to put him in the carbon frees

  • Still a better love story than Twilight.

  • @Kytachan Fuck yeah it is.

  • @Kytachan of course! Twilight is bullshit!

  • jesus christ the prequels are terrible. i want the original trilogy on dvd or bluray. not that edited crap. fuck id even take the vhs's at this point

  • @MrBurgundy76

You can get the original trilogy on DVD (in its original form).

  • @MrBurgundy76 I got the trilogy on vhs :)

  • The best two word line in all of film history.

  • This scene is i sware the saddest part of the whole movie. I still can't belive darth did that. If I was leia i would have shot a storm tropper with a gun, grabed han, and stormed out of there. but if she did that she probobly would have gotten killed. stuped dark side

  • I always got sad during this scene :(

  • Comment removed

  • Han Solo is the man!

  • These scene always gets me.That s why The Empire Strikes Back is the best movie of the series. It s very emotional:(

  • Wow. More emotional impact in 40 seconds than in all the prequels put together.

  • Solo is TOO real. Don't even say I love you back. Just, I know. lol. Fuckin pimp.

  • There's better acting and more emotion in this scene alone than in the entire 3 episode Anakin and Padme romance plot.

  • At 0:17 han solo is getting a blowjob by a weird creature. Watch it carefully

  • Far more chemistry between these two than Edward and Bella in those crap Twilight films

  • @ronki23 Totally

  • he just pulled a han solo

  • I remember they were talking about this scene because they didn't want Him to say "I love you too"

  • Fuck off

  • "I'm pregnant."

    "I know."

"I did Luke, before I knew he was my brother."

    "I know."

    "I've been seeing Lando."

    "I know."

    "Greedo shot first."

    "THAT'S BULLSHIT!"

  • What i don't get is why in this scene with his hands tied behind his back, but later we see him in the iconic frozen pose, of his hands held up in a horrified position. Bad continuity.

  • @severinloves The little dudes removed the handcuffs.

  • PIMP !

  • I love what the two top comments on this video are.. an analysis of the characters, and then an oral sex joke. Oh, YouTube, you never fail me.

  • I did this to my gf, she continued to suck my dick ferociously...

  • See, this is what makes the original Star Wars great. George Lucas isn't given total control of the movie, so an actor, Harrison Ford, improvised a line that fit his character much better than George Lucas's original line.

  • @xgmb45 Actually Irvin Kershner told him to say it George has control over all the movies and Empire was co-written

  • w it seems to me tha chewie loves han more than leia

  • The curious thing about this scene is that what Han solo says was not written in the script, it was a sentence that Harrison Ford improvised, and was unexpected. It fix so well that Lucas left it like that. What an amazing scene.

  • i wouldve been pretty angry

  • I have said this to my girlfriend a couple of times... when she remembers that this one of the first movies we watched together, she loves it. When she doesnt, well I end up being a jerk.

  • Comment removed

  • Said this to my girlfriend over a year ago.. we're getting married next month.

  • @19saxman91 I also Said This to My Girl Friend on Our Annaversary...she Is Now My Ex.. LMAO!

  • @19saxman91 Did she travel to Jabba's palace to rescue you from a carbonite prison, that's the thing. Unless she did that it's not true love.

  • @AshleyMarkPomeroy ...yes

  • @AshleyMarkPomeroy did her initial plan fail and was forced to wear skimpy outfits in the desert by a giant worm ***hole?

  • hahaha thats fucking classic..

    I love you..

    I KNOW

  • Leia & Han kiss.

    Leia; I love you.

    Han: I know.

I want it to go like that when I tell my crush I love him.

  • from Han himself; youtube.com/watch?v=U4xdWpo4bh8&feature=player_embedded

  • and today people use Twilight as an example of love- ugh-Han and Leia is an amazing couple

  • Leia: "I love you"

Han: "Seriously, at a time like this? You're just now telling me? Listen babe I've been trying to get into your pants for months, and you bring this up now? You bitch! I hate you! I'm glad I'll never see you again!"

  • Han Solo is a pimp :-)

  • I know this scene really is all about Han and leia, but Chewie is the 1 who breaks my heart

  • RVB

    Wash: I hate you...

    Doc: I know...

  • @Coolrx24 Haha.

    Anakin: IHATEYOUUUU

    Obi-Wan: I know.

  • @xMedicYuurarax That would be awesome if that was the scene!

  • This isn't how it was originally written. Originally, Han said, "I love you to." But they didn't really like that line because it put Han at a diadvantage because Leia said it 1st. And after like half an hour on "lunch penalty" Harrison Ford just said during a take, "I know, and it worked.

  • Harrison Ford ad-libbed that line.

    B.A.M.F.

  • Lois Leia: I love you!

    Peter Han: F**K OFF!

  • i always thought this was the most G thing i've ever heard.

    "i love youuu."

    "pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff bitch, i know."

  • That line was impovised..apparently.

  • my boyfriends birthday is coming up and its also our 5 month anniversery. he's a HUGE star wars fan so im going to get him a heart shaped dog tag engraved with a cute star wars quote on it. would this be a good one or does anyone have any better ones? :)

  • @fantasticmaniac

what about the "you like me because i'm a scoundrel" quote?

  • @lilliodhe5enraptured thanks ! who said it ?

  • @lilliodhe5enraptured

pretty sure it was han, but they have the clip on you tube. it's a han/leia scene.

  • Not as good.

  • I wish I was as cool as hans solo. I'd never get away with saying i"i know" if a girl told me she loved me. Only hans can.

  • @mike649fox I can

  • @fredfredburger2626 you can?!?!? you are my hero.

  • 1 and a half second blowjob 0:15 BAM!

  • @xantiherox I arched a brow at that as well and thought ill of myself until I saw your comment. Great scene

  • @xantiherox Classic! couldn't stop laughing!

  • @xantiherox cant unsee

  • @xantiherox AHAHAHAHAH i cant stop laughing

  • Took the words right outta my mouth.

  • Just realized (after watching this movie 30 times) that Vader is actually effected by Han and Leia's love in this scene. It kinda starts to get to him. And then all the more in 'Return' when Luke and him have there father son chat on Endor......maybe the most underated moment in the original trilogy.

  • 4 people don't know.

  • Press 4 over and over again.

  • @Kallee1992 LMAO

  • Han and Leia's relationship was so good.

Anakin's and Padme's "relationship" pissed me off so much....

  • Also: HAN SHOT FIRST!

  • I love that scene when I watch episode V on VHS (yes I know), I push so hard on the review button it's nearly dead... ^^

  • @bbcseriesfan LONG LIVE VHS

  • @littlelamb711 you said it. :] i was just watching this last night with my tiny vhs built in tv. <3

  • George Lucas wanted him to say 'I LOVE YOU, TOO!'

Hahahaha what an idiot.. (please dont tell me he's a billionnaire.. blah blah.. he's just a lucky mofker!!)

  • @reviewreviewer1 there is no way i could downvote this comment enough..

  • @reviewreviewer1 For a "review reviewer", you surely don't review the stuff you write. Are you dyslexic?

  • @baldheadkid Yes, but after hearing it, George didn't like it. He thought it wasn't like Han Solo. He told Harrison to say the first words he could think of on the next take. So he said "I know". George kept it ;)

  • Another one of those times you wish for the 5 star rating instead of just a vague "thumbs up".

  • To be honest, I don't really even like Star Wars, but I LOVE Han Solo.

  • LOL!!! this sounds like a line from one of the new movies... still fucking awesome though.

  • best line ever.

  • Han Solo=The Sex.

  • i just played out this moment with my girl

  • It's a minor thing to the mood of the overall scene, but Han closing his eyes and lifting his head up to the sky as the steam starts popping up was pretty epic. It's as if the character's saying "fuck death, I'm Han Solo bitch, I'm not afraid" with this action, and you gotta love it as it suits his character perfectly.

  • best line in the whole trilogy

  • RIP Irivn Kershner...

  • There is more genuine romantic pathos in this 40 second scene than three movies worth of Anakin and Padme's love story. Both of the characters' feelings come from their characterizations; Leia finally overcomes her pride, and "I know" is the only thing Han's lifelong confidence will allow him to say. They really come across as real people. Too bad Anakin and Padme didn't.

  • @machidaboy when they say dont blame the actors blame the director, I think the contrary is true for both...

  • @machidaboy Plus the guy who played Anakin was more wooden than Ikea!

  • @machidaboy

    perfectly put .

  • @machidaboy & you're so gay I don't even know where to start

  • @no1nozz : Listen here, little boy. Just because your crack-whore mother wraps her lips around dicks and crack pipes doesn't give you the right to take it out on me. Go back to midnight basketball and stealing cars little boy, before a real man puts a real dick up your monkey ass.

  • and that.. is the definition of a bad ass mutha fuka!!

  • I did this to a girl on facebook, but YouTube won't let me link to the screencap. Her response was epic.

  • star wars is my favrite movie

  • Or

    Han: I know

    me: Orgasm

    Just saying

  • I wonder can women try that same line:

    Guy: I love you

    Girl: I know

    OMG that would work :-)

  • @honeegrrl

dont put words in my gender's mouth! It would go like this

    Guy: Make me a sandwich

    Girl: I love you

  • Han Solo is a pimp :-)

  • lol could he be anymore full of himself

  • This will always remind men around the world to be a motherfuckin G.

  • That man is a muthafuckin' pimp.

  • It still makes me want to cry with romance every time I see it. This is important.

    Everything else pales into insignificance.

  • Comparing fucking Jar Jar to Chewy is blasphemy!!! I could not comprehend one word of what chewy was saying but i felt every roar and understood it. Jar Jar spoke and has nothing but my hatred lol

  • OMG the best line.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah ... duh ...

  • You guys are a bunch of stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herders.

  • @JonasanDiasu Who's scruffy-looking?

  • The Empire has no time and place for illegal smugglers.

  • this was an ad libbed line

  • i luv han!!!

this part is sad except for the "i know'' SO CUTE!

  • CLASSIC. The scenes at Cloud City might be the best part of the whole series.

  • han, you scoundrel, you.

  • This was a dangerous process that could have killed the character so it was a dramatic moment.

  • Han is so smooth, he just weaseled his way out of that better than the asteroid belt.

  • when Han said "I Know"

he said it like he was a pimp.

  • kids a boss he knows it

  • Han Solo is the man. What a CLASSIC line.

  • Han Solo = AWESOMENESS

  • So what's the story behind this scene? About him saying this line. I heard that it wasn't part of the script.

  • Comment removed

  • @mmmmmvodka Originally, Han was going to say "I love you" back to Leia, but Harrison Ford and Kershner thought it didn't suit Han's character, so Harrison Ford ad-libbed the line "I know" and they all loved it so much they kept it in.

  • LAD

  • "I love you" ..... "Fuck Off" Ahahaha

  • @SkatyMcFan13 The family guy scene was so fucking hilarious.

  • @SkatyMcFan13 Fuck Family Guy, Watch Futurama. End of Disscusion.

  • @codafett Dude Futurama is my favorite show!! haha thats funny

  • Ranks up there with about, I don't know, the entire movie for greatest momements

  • Kershner has slightly misremembered the original line; it was "Just remember that, Leia, because I'll be back"; Lawrence Kasdan, the main writer on the script, was LIVID that so many lines had been changed during shooting (including an entire scene between Han and Leia), but Kershner didn't feel the line worked, so.. "I know."

  • best line ever

  • I remeber being ten and shedding a *few* tears in the theatre after this scene. I'm so glad Lucas re-released these movies and I got to expireince this in the theatre. (with the exception of the "Greedo Shoots First" conspiracy)

  • This happened to me today with my Girlfriend, except I'm Leia and she's Han. So I wonder, is that bad?

  • @CheckOutMyVideosPlox Ha you woman

  • this is such a perfect scene.... my god. ITS SOOO PERFECT!!

  • chewie is just pissed han didn't say goodbye

  • like a true pimp...

  • LOL! But not a pimp: A Man.
