okay, (asuming it's PC) go into steam, right click on HL2, click on game properties, one of the tabs is data managment or sumthing, click verify integrity of game cache (steam cannot do anything durring this process) on X-box, install to HDD, should work, if not, you need the elevator model, find it, install, and ure good

I had the same problem.....what I did was that before I enter the elevator I make suicide.....and after that I come back to the elevator and its working.....but later on the other elevator where the same problem and than i needed to skip that level......I think that the reason for that is because its the pirate version...

Oh okay! Here's what to do! I had this exact same problem with the X-Box 360 Orange Box! Just install the game to your X-Box hard drive and it should work a lot better!

I sort of have a problem in this area too. I am all safe going up in the lift and the just as we reach the top i get killed. I love the half life games and have just started episode 2... yet this is really taking the piss. Its a great game but they should at least make sure they do adequate game testing so this sort of thing doesn't happen to the end user.

the error would mean that the vortigaunt character model is missing. you need to either reinstall that model manually or back up your saves and reinstall the whole game.

I've got a similar problem in the same area, the problem is the vortiguant has completely disappeared meaning I can't get the lift to go up. Takes the piss, am going to have to start again.

I had to start all over and have already beat the game. However, I still experience problems with "The Orange Box," mainly with Team Fortress 2. I literally can't play the game without it freezing during the loading screen. I don't know what's going on with my Xbox 360.

2) Why are you using a cam to film the screen? Ever heard of Source Recorder?

It does suck, especially since I brought that gnome with me for the achievement. Now I have to start all over again. It's odd that nobody else has had this problem that I know of.
