Loved this song and so happy I found it again on Youtube. For the longest time I've been searching (even on Google) but until recently I was able to guess the lyrics and BOOF Jim Photoglo's name popped up!
Teenage years ? Always found yourself being a macho man and playing yourself with the one you adore so much. Then she says to hell with you and then you start singing this song !!
Hey Rogipan!! Thanks for uploading this. I had forgotten all about this song until a couple of months ago when I heard it on AT 40 - The 80's. I recorded that show and can't get enough of this song! BTW, 2 other GREAT 1 hit wonders from that show: Get Wet's - Just So Lonely, and Jesse Winchester's - Say What.
I searched 2 decades for this song. I found it by accident about 3 yearson Jim's website full video, and all. I thought it was Darryl Hall, Stephen Bishop, and others with this sound. I hit youtube, and it's everywhere. His crooning is a definite nod to Marvin Gaye in a poppish way, but it sounds wonderful. Sad that it hasn't hit true '80's classic status. This song used to get me going on saturday mornings with its uplifting sound. Outstanding, & thanx for making available.
Jim's two hits were meatier than Sam's one top 40 hit, Sugar Don't Bite (#36 in 1984). Sam had another almost top 40 with I'd Do It All Again in 1986, a duet with 1979 #24 Please DOn't Leave hitmaker Lauren Wood. Dick Clark called Lauren when PLease Don't Leave was played on Bandstand in 1979, a lady you ought to watch in the 80s.
How the heck did JIm Photoglo get on Star Search. Sam was on in the first season, 1983-84, so Jim must have been on in the first season. Some people might have remembered Jim's then fairly recent-hits.
After all these years, this songs still ranks at the top of my favorites!!!! Spring of 1981....turning twenty one & falling in love for the very first time in Lincoln, Nebraska! Thanks for the great music & memories Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love will fly if held too lightly.
Love will die if held too tightly.
How should I hold you..
How do I know if I'm still keeping you or I'm letting go..

Boy do I feel old. I remember when this song came out--like every 3 or 4 year old out there. Another great song from the early '80s.
