No one can be as good as Mark Viduka, no matter how many goals he scored (or didn't). He added so much more to the game, the ability to bring other attackers into play so well with his hold up play.
That's why it's so great to see Josh kennedy filling that role so well. And he's scored goals for us, and he is always involved in the build-up play, just as the Duke was. And the great thing about that is that Kewell can play off of him as a supporting striker OR winger, he's effective anywhere!

@FCMelbVictory i think Australia needs to engage more Aboriginal people to be competitive at the world game...There are lots of Aboriginal people representing Aus in sports...but not many play soccer?
You see the agility of some of the AFL and NRL players, Hockey players......it would be good to have seen some of those players in soccer that other domestic sports......

It's not AFL btw it's Melbourne rules, the game is a one city/one state sport for bigots, it doesn't count for shit. @shauny83 we can! Think about it, we have one of the most solid defences in the world! That showed when we went through the qualifiers only conceding 4 goals all up. All we're missing in our team is a flare in attack! Cahill's in form, Kennedy's in form, but we need all three of our main strikers to be in form to have that flare! If we can get the flare in attack that we had in 2006 and combine that with the solidaty that we have in our defence now, we can go on the win the world cup!

No one can be as good as Mark Viduka, no matter how many goals he scored (or didn't). He added so much more to the game, the ability to bring other attackers into play so well with his hold up play.
That's why it's so great to see Josh kennedy filling that role so well. And he's scored goals for us, and he is always involved in the build-up play, just as the Duke was. And the great thing about that is that Kewell can play off of him as a supporting striker OR winger, he's effective anywhere!
