  • just watched this again after 15 years. Turns out my childhood was all a lie.

  • Blimey! I used to watch this as a little youngster! Brilliant! Great upload! Cheers!

  • great show, the intro song was brilliant too. me and my siblings loved this when we were kids :)

  • I remember this distinctly as a kid. I liked the intro a lot. It's amazing to me, however, just from this episode how much new age and pagan influence there is in British television. Sad.

  • I freakin loved this! Oh to be a kid again!!

  • wot a crock !!! fuckin' kenk now

  • 3:15 coming home from school, tuning in to T-Bag, and Telebugs, and looking forward to the grown up show at 4:45 such as knightmare!!! before home and away and neighbours. jeez, those were the days, really makes me sad! anyone else have these memories? im 30 now....

  • @mi005ro ditto. :'(

  • oh yeah! yes yes yes. those days

  • I remember this from the 80's but it had a differant theme tune

  • you lot failed i knew this show was shit from day one....

    LOL at not watching CBBC....

  • @supahdupahguy81 cbbc sucked and still does and if u have been watchin since day one, u mean since 89'? Dumbass

  • @kooora18

Well first off i'm 29 years old & i haven't seen either CBBC or CITV for quite some time, so i'm not up to date on the recent quality of either (unlike you, apparently)

By "day one" i mean the first time i personally saw it, sorry for not being chronologically precise about a long-cancelled, shit kids TV show :/

CBBC had Grange Hill, Chronicles of Narnia, Demon Headmaster, Byker Grove..

CITV had Woof, ZZZap! & Mike & fucking Angelo....Apart from Fun House it was fucking shit.

  • @supahdupahguy81 Grange Hill? That show that started in '78? What? Chronicles of Narnia, what have you been smoking? They fucking stink! This show is international, was watching while on holiday in the Middle East. That you're opinion btw, keep it ur self.

  • @kooora18

"Grange Hill? That show that started in '78? What?"

    --

What's that got to do with anything though??....it's was still 10x better than this tripe..

    /

Narnia was a multiple award-winning show & got nominated for an Emmy for "outstanding children's program", clearly it isn't just me who thought it was good....

Mike & Angelo is only entertaining to ppl with ADHD......sorry to break it to you..

  • Comment removed

  • @supahdupahguy81 r u sure ur not on about the film? cos it maybe the same but anyway narnia as a whole is so childish and fucking rubbish.

  • @kooora18

Nah there was a series on BBC that was on from 1988-90...

    /

"narnia as a whole is so childish"

    --

    It's a children's programme, bro...

    :/

  • @supahdupahguy81 Bbc programme? I said "Narnia as a whole", the tv show, the films, the whole idea is so rubbish. even fuckin teletubbies make more sense

  • @supahdupahguy81 Be Quiet

  • @supahdupahguy81 HAHA you just brought another kids programme to my memory ZZZap i used to do impressionds of that show when i was little am now 30years old Brilliiant.

  • Classic show! I really miss it! as far as I can remember Angelo was the only constant in the whole run of the show! the family members changed a couple of times I'm sure! CITV had so many great shows! its such a shame it was allowed to wither and die

  • @katakisLives Not true, the original Angelo was played by Tyler Butterworth who was a far better Angelo than the guy that replaced him. He did the first 2 seasons with the show then left. I watched season 3 as a child then gave up on it because I remember hating the replacement, just wasn't the same.

  • I am running a campaign on Facebook to get Mike and Angelo released on DVD, I need as many people as possible to join, thank you :)

Search for 'Mike and Angelo should be released on DVD' on facebook!

  • Funny thing, I remember this show but I don't remember the horrible canned laughter. I suppose it's not something you consciously consider as a kid.

For some reason, looking back now, it reminds me of any generic US / Canadian sitcom from the same period (but with British accents, natch).

  • all 80s babys had the childhoods

  • Are Katey and Mike brother and sister or mother and son?

  • @Floobegusted Auntie and Nephew I think

  • So that's where Brian got his clothes from!

  • campest man of all time

  • does no one remember the weird puppet thing that came out of the cupboard under the stairs? That totally fucked me up for years!

  • @grasshopper020 no but im intrigued now. i wonder why you thought it was so bad?

  • @cyllocybin just an eerie out of place scene with an odd faced puppet creeping about! one of those childhood memories that stayed with me, like the blue meanies in yellow submarine only 10 times worse. lol!

  • i remenber this now great times

  • What happened to this! I used to love this programme as a little boy.

  • Oh my god....I loved this

  • i loved this show as a kid.

watching it now at the age of 26. this is pony.

how sad was i as a child.

couldnt think of anything worse. living with a gay and a scots women.

  • i vaguely remember this but i could of sworn it was an American show, maybe im confusing this with something else but I thougtht the older man was always in red.

  • lmao this is a lot weaker than i remeber xD

  • amazing this programme! 90's kids programmes were miles better than they are today! boooo haha

  • @itgoesallthewayround I agree, we were proper spoilt for choice, between BBC and ITV childrens programmes, when you came in from School, don't think ITV, run's childrens programme anymore, probably cos there's quality on show.

  • does the opening song called tied to the 90's. i remember it being in the charts. i think travis sung it.

  • I loved this show growing up . I remember having a huge crush on Angelo when i was about 13 lol

  • old school citv

  • Tkis isn't the origonal theme tune is it?...the one from the late 80's? it isn't the one I remember...

  • it is the later 1 i havent seen the old theme tune on youtube sadly :(

  • Look at that Darth Vader poster! Mental!

  • 1:02 contains a plot error. Angelo refers to how feng shui is know on his home planet. Yet if you trace the origins of the story right back to the begining, Angelo didn't know where he came from and had no memory of life before he stepped out of the wardrobe.

The was never a point in the show where it was ever explained that he'd recovered any info on his past. It just began to creep in after the original Mike and Rita departed.

  • Wow I remember this like it was yesterday

  • The boy in this is now an ultra camp gay DJ who is quite big in the gay scene in london apparantly. . . . . .what on earth would angelo think! ! ! !

  • Comment removed

  • wow I remember the intro perfectly, and the music, after fifteen years! I had to search for this because I keep hearing the guys voice over on adverts. I also searched for harry's mad...that was fantastic! now I just need to search for that programme where the kid turns into a dog...anyone know the name of that one?

  • doesnt matter...found it! its 'woof!'

  • Even as a child I saw Angelo as a kind of weird paedophile figure. He is creepy.

  • For some strange reason i thought that this was american.

  • I remember the kid being blonde with an American accent

  • I was born in 1992 but i still recognise the theme tune...its really weird...but cool because its familiar but i cant remember it

  • What a Show. Loved to watch this when I came home from school, I wonder if it can be got on DVD?

  • for some reason Katie really annoyed me!

  • OMG I used 2 watch it on Saudi TV channel 2 long time ago

those were 1 of the best day in my life

I wish if they show it again on any TV

  • Where did you get this episode of mike and angelo? it's not taped off citv because there's no D-O-G, is it off a studio master tape?

  • This would have come from ITV (Thames TV) around 1991.

  • Oooh, than again I'm not so sure now. I remember the characters changed in 1991 when the original actors realised the show was a load of shit...!

I stopped watching CITV past 1993 (I grew up!).

  • @tsangari Sorry you out by 9 years this is from 2000. that katy woman only come along in 1995 and young boy started in 2000

  • Same here! It is amazing seeing this after all these years, it was one of my favourite shows - that and Woof!

  • @madeinengland90 How do you think he painted them things in the Sistine chapel?

  • i dont remember a different actor but ur right about the different music, this show was well good , i see the programmes my niece watches and there aload of crap compared to wat i watched in the 90s

  • Yeah, Tyler Butterworth played Angelo originally :D But was replaced by Tim Whitnall

  • Sweet! What I'd like to find is does anyone have the earlier first series of this!? It had a different actor playing Angelo, Tyler Butterworth, I think. I think the music to the opening titles were slightly different too

  • OH my god! not seen nd heard of this show for years lol brings back memories

  • Mine too I loved it and still love it now!!!!!

  • This used to be my favourite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 x

  • Comment removed

  • Thats some lame acting!!

  • oh crikey i remeber this now didt they change the girl about three times throughout its run lol

  • Does anyone remember the epsodie Dean Cook was in as a guest and Dean Cook played Ben in Snap another CiTV show

  • Remind me what 'Snap' was. The name sounds really familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it.

  • Well Snap was a sitcom as well it lasted 2 sesaons on Monday afternoons after Art Attack that's all I remember

  • wasn't there a series (towards the end) where they ran a burger bar or something? or was that something else. And anyone else remember that series with the talking parrot? i think it was called something Mad or something like that?

This and Woof! are the things I remember most from CITV in the early 90's

  • The show with the parrot was called Harrys Mad

  • i loved this show, then they messed around with the actors then i stopped watching.

Why did they keep changing mike?

    they bollocks it up.
