@Tenpercentskater The Dragonball series was inspired by the Chinese tale Journey to the West and the main character being the Monkey King aka Sun Wukong. Son Goku is the Japanese pronunciation of the name. The Chinese film probably used the Wukong name instead of Goku so the english translator translated it as Monkey Boy.

Its obvious to me that the people that made this movie actually understood what Dragon Ball is about (unlike the people behind DragonBall evolution) but the due to copyright they could not make it the exactly the same, I.E. the 'Dragonpearls' and the names of characters. The English dub is terrible too I would much rather read subtitles...

To me want makes a movie good, is if it can bring up and emotion in me, this one make me feel like a happy child. Another thing that makes a good movie for me is if I feel that the actors can play the part well enough that I don't see them at all and only see the characters. I definitely see only Goku, not just an actress playing him.

I'm 20, never seen this movie before, and just recently have gotten into DBZ Kai and DB in general thanks to Nicktoons, and I've only seen a few episodes of DB. I love the goofiness to this movie. I love how Goku is played by a girl, and she is so spot on playing him, it's adorable! Yet, the weird thing is this movie seems like I've grown up with it, and I feel like I'm 6 again, but I've never seen it before!
