How did you "modify" the kickstarter? Also, I've done this 500 swap on two TRX's and an ATC and every one of them shook the frame apart. It's just a matter of time. I even had an engineer friend of mine design a completely new frame, and it cracked that one too. Tried a Kawasaki KXT with a KX500 and it is still going after all these years. Cheers.
Did this to a suzuki quadracer 250 frame. Pulled so so fucking hard.....was spining em on dry pavement up hill through third gear...just fucking potent power.

@ebach1996 No they havent,I modified it to kick forward.An as for the pipe actually it goes really good its not a standard 250r head pipe i changed alot of things around with this pipe including stinger inside diameter, header length works really well.Do you even know anything about tuning 2stroke pipes and how they work.like mapping of the ports etc??

@bigstrapperpete Thanks mate,im assumin you mean the two little reliefs above the exhaust port.Nah havent mate they would have to be filled somehow??or by the time it gets a few oversizes it will evetually remove them.Altough im sure honda put them there to make them easier to start and take some of the stress of the kicker gears.Thanks for your suggestion.
yea those little ports, they just slowed down the exhaust a little to tame it down some. the stock 1985 and 1986 cylinders came that way, and those bikes were FAST!! you can take em out with a die grinder if your careful, and then smooth out the edges
ok i really dont think its a cr500 motor in a trx250r frame. no fucking way can you get it to kick foward. whats the point in having a powervalve less 500cc motor they got a power band peek like sharp pencil, its all or nothing with them. the cr500 motors dont make as much power as you think a 350 power valve kit makes a mean 250r. Quadzalla yes they were 500cc and power valved, very fast but didnt handle like a TRX. i want to see a lt500r motor in a trx style of frame...

@mart300r ok i was wrong, i can see that its a cr500 motor thats a cleaver set up you got on the kick start. even tho cr500's are bad ass there still not as good as what people make them out to be. they got power, dont get me wrong... but are not very smooth... the motors power band feels very short brisk. its not long and arm ripping like a power valved motors would be. i have road a cr500 bike befor. ridding on black top was fun. anything else it sucked in. power was like a on/off swich.
@J0A0123 You can clearly see that he made either a gear or lever system to kick it forward, apposed to back like it was designed. If you look near the end you can see the kick lever doesn't even line up with the stock position in the plastics. Thats just one thing I've noticed quickly, because I actually OWN one...
@dmaheryfz450 they didnt pull out, they had the big lawsuit and suzuki and honda agreed not to make 2 stroke quads for 7 years to settle the case, so when 97 came around they could have produced the 250rs again, and i wish they did
but you are right when you say that the zilla is fastest "top speed" quad put into production by a major manufactuer. the zilla has too many problems with the crank. the OLD guys that i ride with that have had that bike all decked out said it costed twice in as much in mods just to compete in the trails as the bone stock R and wouldnt even think about it at the track. suzuki only built it as a promotional stunt...a novelty. all Honda had to do is take there 500 put it into the R and DONE
@ghettodawg50 like i said they f*cked it into the frame! but no they never messed with the casings or the motor at all, to do this install! ive already taken it out and am working on it to go inside the 2002 cr 250 frame. its the 85 cr500 motor.
sorry buddy but i raced a zilla that was bored, stroked, ported and running on alcohol...and the 500 motor just pulled away through EVERY gear! ive got the 85 motor. and its just all F*CKED into the frame. i was riding on the streets in s fla w a banshee and a new 450r. when we got into the trails it was a different story. cause this was my first bike and my first ride in almost ten years. so they just left me standing still.
@frankevans86 stroking isnt a good thing to do on 500s, way to much angle on the rod, an yea i have both an 87 cr 500 and an 88 quadzilla the cr seems to rev faster, not even talkin about speed jus the motors
these conversions always have lots of problems it's always better to fit a jug to the stock gear box because of the gearing and vibration issues i've seen stock 250r 's put a hurtin on these on a motocross track but they deffinetly have the top end
Yeh had to modify tha frame a bit and a bit of messin round to make it forward kick.Than it was vibrating pretty bad so i pulled it down and balanced the crank and its all good now ive only ridden it once (video to be put up shortly) but jetting was way off so i gotta sort that and a new pipe.but yeh to all those people out there being gullable and thinking the 500's dont vibrate they do so even before cutting your frame split the cases and get the crank balanced than it makes them rideable
I built one of these before. They do vibrate a lot, but it's managable. I'm building another and will balance the crank if it helps. I also would like some info on how you made the forward kick as mine was rear and almost impossible to start.
How do you make it forward kick? I have one I'm building with a kx500 on a warrior. My kickstarter hits the frame gonna have to change something. If you know of a way I could make it forward kick it would be very much appreciated.

in order to put a 500r into a quad or atc frame they would need to modify the engine.
counter balancer
forward kicker.
and maybe other mods.
if they didnt do this the bike would vibrate like a jack hammer and destroy the frame.
