Love is not the same for everyone in every family so who is anyone to judge. People are very complex and some cant move forward and better their relationships from the pain they grew up in sometimes, this is normal. Like many have stated Joe grew up in a hard time and prob didnt know how to be anything different. People are very complex and some cant move forward and better their relationships from the pain they grew up in sometimes, this is normal. Like many have stated Joe grew up in a hard time and prob didnt know how to be anything different. He loved his children and they loved him. Raising 9 children in Gary, were crime and gang relations were a great influence, he had to do something to keep his boys in line. This is a success story because not one of them ended up in jail or dead due to gangs.

I DO AGREE WITH YOU... I dont hate Joe. I just think he treated MJ horrendously... He never showed MJ love in a way the MJ could recognise as a child BUT thats not to say he did not feel LOVE for his Son.. I also think Joe is old school and easily misunderstood and probably had not idea how to relate to someone like MJ (who is like the total OPPOSITE of him)... Either way there was some kind of love there. MJ finally said I LOVE YOU to his father some time in his 40s i think.

Seriously though, some of you people are just plain wrong to talk about Michael's father so negatively. I'm not condoning what Joseph did to put his children in the spotlight the way he did, but let's just face the facts for a minute, if he hadn't of been as strict on them about it, you and I wouldn't have the legendary King Of Pop Michael Jackson to begin with. Joseph is a human being, and I'm sure he is grieving over Michael's death just like the rest of Michael's family.

Pros and Cons to Joe Jackson. If u go back in time & erase even 1 tid bit of your past, you will not be the very person U are today which means MJ wouldnt have been the "exact" person he was so despite the fact that I personally dont condone or like alot of things I heard about Joe I also am well aware that those very things I dont like DID contribute directly to MJ success and the human MJ was.
