Very nice, thanks for share us ! I am a musician in Paris and I should like to buy and learn the igil. Could you tell me where I can buy an Igil and if the cords are from horsehair (if yes where can I find thelm) or other please.
If there weren't the electronic sounding beat and little synth sounds I think I'd like it a lot more. Sounds like it was made on GarageBand or something
Not trying to put it down, cause it's pretty wicked. Just seems a little cheesy if you pay attention to anything other than the Igil at points.
It definitely sounds awesome through those effects though
when i first heard the Beat i was like "this sounds lame".... luckly for me i kept listening.... i was VERY VERY wrong... this was the most Melodic thing i have heard in a while... this was really actually inspirational... i really enjoyed it..... i watched it like 8 times, i think its safe to say you are EPIC
it's good shit, what kind of effects are you running? i hear wah, delay, and a really smooth clipping on the overdrive. anything else you do for that particular sound? (other than the natural properties of the instruments of course)
sorry i read this by mistake but better safe than sorry, PLEASE DON'T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on 10 videos in the next hour. if you do, tomorrow will be the best day of your life
Oh my gosh! Could you imagine Mozart trying to write all that down? I believe it would have driven him mad. Ha ha!! My friend, fantastic!!!! Loved it. Can you tell?
ignore the hateful, heartless *@~$ lol. Even if you don't like someone's music you don't say that. but for the record i thought the music was awesome. Nicely done.
not really changing pitch, just filtering different harmonics in and out to the beat, kind of like an automatic wah-wah pedal that jumps to different places, so it gives a feeling of "movement" but still the same pitch
I have to say, your music is awesome. I grew uo listening to Huun Huur Tu, and to hear how you manipulate these instruments is spectacular. Thanks, and keep up the great job.
G'day John, I first heard your music when i started researching the amazing hang drum, and was impressed with what you did with it, since then i keep finding myself coming back to listen to more of your stuff, i really like your groove!
wow i just found your music today looking at random videos and i can't get enough. the tunes are amazing as is but have you ever thought of having someone put lyrics over it? or maybe using several of your instruments at once and/or dubbing them over each other? just some ideas. keep up the good work!
mtv and other music channels need to wake up and realize what real music is instead of churning out the crap that they do!! a single thread is the best thing to happen to music in a long long time!! thanks you John!!
p.s. u might wanna experiment with indian and pakistani string instruments. i think it's right up your alley and u'll do a great job there too!!
Thank you very much for your comments. Are you in Pakistan? I thought the blocked YouTube for a bit :( Anyway, yes, I'd like that, I love indian music too, very interesting music, and my neighbor has played sitar for 50 years!
yup i am. apparently i also heard they blocked youtube here, even though i never had any problems accessing it... guess our government couldn't even do that right... lol :-D
wow... 50 years of sitar... that's wicked!! great to know u're interested in traditional indian music... i've always wondered what a distorted, delayed sitar would sound like ;)
and it's really cool of u to respond to everyone... u rock :)
You can get the distorted sitar sound out of a guitar. The trick is in the scale. Very simple when you know what your doing. I've been trying to get original sounds out of my guitar ever since I got it, but the only way is though retuning and inventing chords. Its a lot of work and I don't like working hard. Maybe I should get on of these. Looks fun too.
your doing nice man keep it up and maybe we going to jam in the futere me with my didgeridoo or guitar and u i dont no you got enough imnstrument to get a ggood jam

What interval are the two strings from each other if played open?
remedyz0802 2 years ago
They are played a 5th apart, in this case the low note is C and higher note is G. Sometimes I use D and A, and once in awhile tune them to a 4th.
