Not trying to put it down, cause it's pretty wicked. Just seems a little cheesy if you pay attention to anything other than the Igil at points.

What interval are the two strings from each other if played open?

They are played a 5th apart, in this case the low note is C and higher note is G. Sometimes I use D and A, and once in awhile tune them to a 4th.

not really changing pitch, just filtering different harmonics in and out to the beat, kind of like an automatic wah-wah pedal that jumps to different places, so it gives a feeling of "movement" but still the same pitch

You can get the distorted sitar sound out of a guitar. The trick is in the scale. Very simple when you know what your doing. I've been trying to get original sounds out of my guitar ever since I got it, but the only way is though retuning and inventing chords. Its a lot of work and I don't like working hard. Maybe I should get on of these. Looks fun too.
