  • shows how harmonicas can be as viable as two violins

    or violin and viola

  • Harmoniciste également que dire que dire super biensur.que de travail pour obtenir un tel niveau

  • The second player, I understand, is

claude from France, a member of harmonica trio group who won the trio championship at Asian Festival a decade ago.

  • Now THAT is a mullet.

  • Ich frage wieder: wer ist der zweite spieler?

  • Please note my comment regarding "Zigeunerweisen". Here a second player is obvious. Is that true of "Zigeunerweisen" too? Who is the other player?

  • In this video they seem to play some popular (folk) tunes. Has nothing to do with "Zigeuerweisen" which is a composition by Pablo de Sarasate, a Violin Vitruoso of the 19th century. Chmel adapted it for the chromatic harmonica, there is no improvising stuff, every note is written by Sarasathe (just in a free "improvising" manner). Chmel is certainly one of the best harmonica virtuosos but his vibrato is quite diffrent from violin playing.

  • Of course I am well aware that this music has nothing to do with legendary violinist Pablo de Sarasate's "Zigeunerweisen". They don't really seem like Volksweisen to me, aber wer weisst! I merely wanted to know who the second player was. It seems unfair that he is uncredited!

  • The song being played here is called "6 Irish folk songs" composed by late James Moody. He composed many nice harmonica music including "Bulgarian Wedding Dance", "From other days", "Laredo" etc...

  • @hontonimaa Moody may have up with the arrangement but the these are traditional Irish tunes.

  • @BrainFPatterson I knew the second song played here is a traditional song but didn't know that all six songs are traditional Irish songs for which James Moody made arrangement. Thank you for your information.

  • @hontonimaa I can't guarantee that all 6 are older folk tunes, but I recgonise at least 4 of them and I susepct the others are too.

  • @BrainFPatterson Good enough. Thank you for the info. Mr. Moody put together 3 or 4 more Irish songs for harmonica players. They are all nice songs.
