Ah... Can't wait. Doing this for my Grade 3 singing. also, @DancerChic5032, wish I were as lucky as you. My first proper solo (i.e. on a stage) was in front of about 500 people, doing A Comic Duet for Two Cats (Rossini) with the guy I had lessons with. Never got so much praise in my life :)

It's not about economics at all! It's about a small boy's desire to hang onto any joy that enters his wretched (up to that point) life! As such it's very accurate. A young child would want someone to "buy" him this joy so he can't have it taken from him ever again.

The questionable morals of wanting to buy a beautiful blue sky aside, it's a lovely song (Love the way the different parts weave together in the beginning), and this is a great version!

Cool! I was in a production of Oliver at my local community theater and our widow corney also played the milkmaid...such a great idea to double cast corney into who will buy. they both sound like such fun parts to sing. Break a leg!

There's even been two Dutch musicals of Oliver. The last was in 2000. Arjan Ederveen played Fagin (THAT's his name). The first one was a long time ago, before the movie was made.

i dont think sarah lark should have been the strawberry seller, i dont rate her soprano. her chest voice is gorgeous, alot like kerry ellis. her head voice is a bit quivery and it sounds like she loses the note sometimes

What the heck? Haha, I love how Laurence's name isn't on the front cover and he's singing the role of, you know, the title character. Anyway, he does a good job. Hopefully he will sound just as good once his voice breaks, whatever voice type he ends up being.
