"Lean on Me" is deff a qood movie for that school to watch together, but for what ? they're not gunna change smh. Its a shame to the students that actually want to learn in that school. & so much for ending segregation . Blacks fought to have the right to go to the same school as others but now for what to fight ? -.- gtfoh smh. Stupid. I wonder how many actually Get to Graduate or make it past 16 w. out a bullet shot at them or a baby in their stomach.
i Attended Hempstead High, And 2010 , But i Moved Lasted Month, But the Skool Was Fun For Me, Because i was cool With EveryOne,.. Its Only a Bad School If You Dont Listen, The reason i say That is Because, If You Were In Class Like you Suppose To Be, You Wuddint Be Getting Into Fights, Or Get Caught In The Cross Fire,.. My Older Brother Gradguated From Hempstead High..In Now He's a Police Officer, In New York, So It Depends On How You Were Rise...I'd Blam The Parents
It is such a bloody shame that this continues to go on at my Alma Mater. I cannot believe that "Tiger Style" is still so dramatically brutal. I am from the class of 1996. It was tough when I attended and it only seems to get worse. I know that when i attended there were teachers who cared and also those who feared. Strongly, I recommend that the clean up starts in the community... Hempstead Police & Nassau Police need to eradicate the Bloods, Crips, MS13 and all other sorts of gangs...
It is then that we won't have these sorts of thugs in my alma mater. Metal Detectors and such were common place when I attended, yet the thugs still managed to do their perilous deeds. Honestly, I did dread going to school there, more concerned about making it home daily than the education I was supposed to receive there. I know many parents wish that they could afford to send their children to private schools. ** sighs ** children believe when I say, Education is the way out!!!
What is wrong with these schools? When my parents went to school, there were hardly kids fighting each other. We need kids to get along with one another. This is all kids think about is violence. Our society is failing our kids. Our schools are also failing our kids. Maybe children should watch ``Lean On Me'' and understand that they can succeed with a good education.
Class of '98 here. its sad to see the same thing still going on. especially when there's so many brilliant minds in that school(black and latino). i hope they put into action what they're talking about. the government, whether its the state or the town of hempstead, dont care whats going on. its up to the parents and students to stand up and say ENOUGH!! That school is full with future leaders.
these girls were my classmates. they speak the truth
