  • This video is a favorite on Uganda

  • guyz, srry for then noobish question..but what exactly is Raid??

  • @kolofagos when you put 2 or more hard drives together really, there are different types, but for speed you use raid 0, which writes and reads to both hard drives at the same time, essentially giving you twice the performance

  • Can i use Italy text too, if so then how!?!?!?!

  • How fast would these programs load, if your not doing Raid0?

  • I guess the time wouldn't increase by much, the drives are pretty fast alone too.

  • cool, I think I will pick up one of these in the future, your one lucky bastard lol :-)

  • how do you enable write caching? can you do it when you setup raid0?

  • You need to install intel matrix storage manager first, and then right click on your array. This can be done only through your OS.

  • im having some problems. I just picked up two ocz vertex 30G drives running them in raid0. Im getting 112min and 220 max for read speeds... WTF is going on??? I got an asus p6tdeluxe i7 @ 4ghz, 6g corair mem... im using the onboard raid. Any ideas??????

  • Have you enabled write caching for the raid0 array from intel matrix storage manager?

  • i did and it worked. thank you. how did you create you .bat file to open all those programs?

  • I got the intell 80gig was like 289 through the intel retail edge program..

  • ok, that's it, I'm buying one of this. lol.

PhotoShop CS3 alone takes about that long to open. This is just mind blowing!

  • Hey unsto, how did you initiate all those apps to start at once? Did you create a folder with all the shortcuts in them and just select all and pressed enter? Just curious :-D Also what do you get in HDD benchmarks? as far as MB/s read/write?

  • I used a simple bat script with the start command to start all the programs simultaneously . Regarding sequential transfer rates i get 440MB/sec read, 310MB/sec write.

  • Im getting 450 Read and 400 write. Same drives. Raid 0 ICH9R.

  • I tried ssd and wasn impressed with the price too preformance of it so ill wait some more.. yes its fast but for the price not worth it realy.. I want a 3.5 drive so they will be bigger storage because more room to put chips should drop the price too..

  • most of the cost is the flash itself

  • Dear christ I'm excited! Ordered a G.Skill Falcon 128GB off newegg.. because it was cheaper than the Vertex version. But I hope it's almost as fast as this!

  • aye,

That mights be not that smart since there are quite allot of SSD's and vertext comes closest to the best and that is frmo intel.

It is important to check how much MB cache you have and what controller.

It is from the utmost importancy

  • I did, the G.Skill Falcon is the same exact drive as the Vertex only with an updated firmware.

  • Good for you!:)

I just bought the vertex, comming in 2 days =))

Hope we both rock it! SSD FTW=))

  • intels read write algorithms slows the drive down a lot over time

  • You can call it software raid. Althouth it's transparent to the user.

  • Just the ICH10R of the motherboard.

  • are you using a RAID controller card. or just the motherboards standard
