This is wonderful! At nearly three years post-chemo, my hair is back to normal but I'm shaking my butt to this terrific song while I laugh and cry at the same time. Thanks so much!!
Two weeks to the minute of my first chemo, I scratched my head and the whole top of my hair came out. By that night - the top was bald. I shaved the rest a couple days later. I thought the hair loss would be awful - but it wasn't. I celebrated it - had a party the day my hair went away. Then I put stickers on my noggin, let the kids draw all over it, let people at church draw on it, not once did I wear a wig and I barely wore a hat. It was awesome!!
I am having chemo right now and, despite being very open about my new hair status was having a bad bald day when a friend sent me this!! I love it and it made me laugh out loud and cry at the same time....I am definitely standing tall and choosing to dance with life but this helps the process along an awful lot!! THANK YOU!!
@FeeCorner ~ I had chemo three years ago, and yes there are "bad bald days" not to mention dreaming you have hair, but I too found this song to be just wonderful. God bless you as "cancer battles you" as the song says! :-)
Boy was this a really good video. Gaye told us about it on her recent visit to perform here in Apache Junction. I can't wait to see her do this and her act live tonight. Thanks Michele
this video as labor of LOVE makes LOVE LIGHT and being the artistic team as ONE the biggest, most admired achievement of all. the brave women show us the way!
i adore you all, GUYS!! may you have many good days! in appreciation and gratitude for The JohnnyBE for this share. posted on my FB. many thanks for beautiful friendship and your heart, GISA!
Rest in Peace, Joe. Say hi to my Dad up there for me. (No, Joe and my Dad didn't know each other on this side of life, but since Joe had the cahoones to do the video, and my Dad was just as wacky, they are bound to run into each other sooner rather then later! lol)
This is such a good video and very uplifting. Losing your hair through cancer treatments can be very traumatic for everyone men and women both. Not being sexist here but maybe affects women a little more. This is a brilliant way to deal with it. It's going to happen with the treatment, but laugh it off and pray your treatment kills the cancer. I've got you favourited, thank you so much.
This song is so powerful - thanks so much ladies for your strength - wisdom and talent. Thanks also for the video - I am sure it has given strength to many - and a few laughs too.
This is great!!! We lost my step mother 4 years ago this month to cancer! She was so brave and so optimistic and she would have loved this song. I think it is wonderful that there are light hearted ways to take on the battle of cancer. For all of you out there who are......don't give up, don't let it get you down....maybe one day a cure will be found!!! And my God blees you all!!!!
I watch this video several times a week! I have been bald 3 times in 10 years due to chemo, and boy o boy, does this song cover every aspect of it. Funny and heartwarming.
Very cute. It was fantastic. Quite uplifting and cheerful. It makes you feel better in some ways and it allows patients of something rough to feel better. Cancer's a tough thing. Kudos to the survivors of any kind and Kudos to this video. That woman could really belt it out, now THAT is power!
This video was FANTASTIC. Thank you so much for getting in touch about it. I'd be happy and honoured to spread the word. Losing her hair was very traumatic for my little sister, she decided to shave it all off when it started coming out in clumps, her husband did it for her and then himself. We all went out to hers for a visit and ALL OUR MEN FOLK had shaved their heads to make her feel better. She's gone now, but is forever in my heart. Thank you.
This was AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for sending me the message about this Johnny! I am very sorry about your Son. We just lost a dear friend yesterday to brain cancer. He was wonderful & always the life of the party even when he was so sick. Our hearts are heavy..but this video helped me to see the brighter side..made me smile! Thank you soooooo much<3
Thanks for sending the link to this. I feel the same as all the people in this video. I lost my hair when going through chemo for breast cancer and it was quite liberating! No hair appt's, no combs/brushes, saved tons on shampoo and coloring, etc! BALD IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thanks for sending me the link to this video. Although I've been blessed with relatively good health, so far, I've had several relatives that have had 'cancer battle with them' and this is a positive, motivating, video like the St. Vincent Providence music video, which sends a loving, spirited, message of encouragement to those afflicted and awareness to those who aren't. Thanks for sharing! =)
Tkx Johnny for sending me your video. Listened to this music over and over again and I LOVE it! I'm bald from chemo and I'm not ashamed to be without my locks. At first I was scared of the looks I'd get, but...I'm BEAUTIFUL without hair and its nice to not have a bad hair day AND everyone loves rubbing and kissing my bald smooth amazing head!! Oh and I can be a blond-brunette or redhead anytime I wish! The world is my audience and I'm takin' a bow ! xoxoxo Tia
Johnny -- great song, great video, great performers -- these ladies are fabulous! Very sorry to hear about your son. I lost my mother to a brain tumor in my early 20s. She didn't live long enough to regain her hair. But I still loved her bald head!
LOVED it-- my son is a 6-year brain tumor survivor. I also lost my 4-year old niece to a brain tumor in 1996.
When she lost her hair to radiation, she balled it up and put it out for the birds to use in their nests.
It was a traumatic moment when my son's super super-thick hair started coming out in handfuls, and radiation kills the follicles for good so it usually never comes back like it was.
But hair is just hair, and losing the hair is well worth the chance to live another day :-)
Happy to hear that your son is doing well. So sorry to hear about your niece, though. Birds nests... How beautiful. The video is dedicated to my youngest son, Andy, who I lost to brain cancer in 1999 at the age of 24. Thanks for sharing.
Fabulous!! Kudos to Gaye, Ann and Andra!! Everyone needs to go out and buy Saffire's CD, "Having the Last Word". Saw them in Annapolis last night! Brava! Pass this link to everyone!
These fine ladies are on their last tour. Got to see them in Houston at the Mucky Duck last week. Awsome!!! Thinking about going to VA for their final preformance Nov 7th. Check it out or you'll regret it. Louella
Just saw Saffire last night at the Cactus Cafe in Austin,
TX. They were, as always, wonderful. Afterwards Gaye told me to check out this video. It's inspirational and is seeing how Gaye handles life. I'm just sorry that more of my friends did not have the wonderful experience of being there. Long live Saffire......

What I could never come to grips with is that the Hypocratic Oath doctors make says,
1. Do no further harm
2. Administer no poison
Could someone please tell me how chemotherapy aligns with the ypocratic Oath.
