I notice in a lot of your fire videos that there are usually several Rescue rigs responding, is that a normal thing in your area? In my area (I'm from Ohio), Engine Co.s are almost always sent on mutual aid for fires.
@apoure25 It is normal anymore, being that companies have been building rescues and ladder trucks as multi-purpose vehicles.Anything around here that was bought in the last 15 years is in this catorgory. And a house fire with 3 different companies will bring usually the home co's rescue,a dispatched rescue in case the home deparment scratches, the RIT co is 95% of the time a Rescue also.So look for at least 3 rescues around here.
@bpw110 I do,but I'll be 40 this year and it's not always in me to make every fire call when I'm home anymore.A lot of one piece responses I'll take my time heading to the station,go on my own to film rigs,or just won't go at all.
Did Newport go too? I didn't see them when the video started. I saw some other companies responding. How quickly was that barn fire brought under control?
Just as your video got into where you were driving towards the fire, I could see the smoke billowing up. The first sign of a structure fire is usually a dark black header. The header from a fire can be seen for miles.
I've seen some fires over the years, and the most recent fire I was to was a suicide house fire at Grace Street in Williamsport, PA. Smoke rolled through the parking lot at my local Williamsport area grocery store, and I knew there was something going on! Montoursville Volunteer Fire Department was on scene as well as Williamsport Bureau of Fire with their ladder fully extended over the house.
i was just curious
