Wow first time i heard this song....suprising to hear after watching the other guys...maybe one of walburgs worst movie's...love some rage though!!! neeed to go on tour again
1) Maggie=US. Doesn't listen to a word the workers say.
2) Brother=coprporations. Pays out a pittance and pretends to be friendly, but you do any little thing to piss them off, they sue (or dock pay, or fine, whatever)
3) Pa=cops/military
4) Ma=religion. Is excessively old (and arguably so old its out of touch) but it still claims its relevance while controlling the enforcer
@GenuineCWB That interpretation, and the fact that Bob Dylan also wrote it to signify his hatred of the folk scene he had created just proves that he's one of, if not the greatest songwriter in recorded history.
@GenuineCWB Not so fast there, Genuine. I know that sounds good and all, but ask Bob Dylan what it means and he'll tell you a different story. Question: do you think corporations sue more than they GET sued?
@memo1269 an unfounded and obvious YES to your stupid question. I dont nessicarily agree with the interpretation (it goes further than that trite), but I find your question absurd. Your blind faith is unnerving.
@mutepg58 Thanks for taking the time to read and reply to my comment. I was going to try and engage in a thoughtful discussion with you, but I don't think that's possible: 1) How can an answer be unfounded and obvious at the same time? 2) It's "NECESSARILY". 3) No idea what your parenthetical statement is trying to say. Trite is an adjective; perhaps you meant "tripe"? 4) Asking a legitimate question does not equate to blind faith. 5) A comment on Youtube is enough to unnerve you? Yikes.

If you really want to get into the lyrics..
Psalm 24: The earth is the LORDs, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
Psalm 68:: God shall arise, his enemies shall be scattered; and those who hate him shall flee before him!
She's 68, but say's she is 24.

@LSDlucid It is - for decades. Glad RATM has brought it to another generation. And it's still politically relevant.
