Because this job is in high demand & your the dumb ass that sign up for it, they wanna keep it that way until you leave (retire). Don't fall for the bonus shit either its a fucking trap! I was stating the observation that I and every other one of my "co-workers" have made. where I'm at on Fort Bragg, the mason's are dug in deep here and they usually only promote their own. All of the CSM's and 1SG's parking spots have SUVs w/ Mason apparel adorning the back window.

@aldena91 Ok... I'm stationed at Fort bragg, NC. I'm in 8th Ordnance company. If I'm the 'only one' you've talked to that doesn't like it... you haven't talked to very many 89's... I don't know a single person who enjoys what we do everyday. It's awful. And by 'only black people make it' I mean that out of the 100+ E-7 or above I've seen on my side of post... only two of them are white. They are all black people in the masons or eastern stars

@silentbob77772002 it's awful man. You only do your job when you deploy. Only black people ever make it past e-6 in this mos and you're pretty much going to be a drifter until you deploy. I.e. you will never know when you're getting off that day. You'll never know what you're doing that day. It's absolutely the most unstable job anyone could possibly ask for. DEFINITELY not worth the paycheck. I'm in pure misery. I work 60 + hrs a week and over 20 of them are spent doing nothing at all.

Yeh. That's only when you deploy. I'm an 89B and would strongly recommend avoiding this MOS if at all possible. Don't believe me if you want, but i've been doing it for four years and I'd rather stick my nuts in a blender.
Im an 89b at ft riley ks, in a avation brg. Ive done my job like four times since june.
