@ktekmoney just because it's absurd and unexpected. there are a lot of random little one-off sight gags in this movie. they had a lot of creative people working on it and they packed it about as full of jokes as humanly possible. maybe not to the level of the airplane movies, but pretty close.

That's the point of absurd comedy. First, you see the kids smokin' weed, so you think to yourself "Okay, that's pretty normal." but then they exagerate it and show them doin' the hard stuff, and then they return to camp looking as if nothing happened, claiming that they did all this stuff within an hour... That's what makes this funny :)

There's a lot of stuff in those movies that's funny to me, but they also throw in some mainstream humor. Wet Hot American Summer doesn't have much traditional comedy.
