  • Man, what's it like to play a 64 SG? That guitar is what dreams are made out of.

  • @agbasp It was very enjoyable to play that guitar. I wished I could've taken it home with me! It had very low action and played almost effortlessly.

  • this is awesome.

thank you so much for not playing a shitty ac/dc cover. that amp sounds amazing

  • That sounds fantastic!

  • that uuuuhh... that sounds pretty awesome

  • thanks 4 an awesome demo...nice plaiyng also!!!!

  • Don't think those are PAFs on a '64. They stopped shipping PAFs in 61. Sorry to be a pedant, but I have a 64 SG lefty and mine has standard Gibson machine wound humbuckers with the wrong pat. number sticker on the underside. Bet that geetar does too.

  • This is probably exactly what the Stones used in the studio for their early '70s albums. Keith has said in plenty of interviews that he loves small Fender Princeton and Champ amplifiers for studio work. With some proper studio EQ, it can basically sound like any huge amp.

  • Monkey Man!!!!

  • "Monkey Man" by the Stones...

  • perfectttt

  • Hey guys Princetons are great but what about twins and supers

    .???? I like them a bit more.

  • I bought a 1979 PR and just rewired it to blackface specs. Then put a new faceplate on it.

    Saved myself $500

  • hey, I've also got a princeton, but I want to add some distortion to the mix. Are you using any pedals or effects in this video? Cause you've got a great overdrive tone.

  • I have just bought an all original 1964 Princeton Reverb after seeing this vid.

It sounds just like it...It is simply the best amp I have ever played period...

  • yeeeeeehaaaa Southpark & Gibson Rulez baby!

  • Well Done Bro

  • Love the Monkey Man riff dude! Great sound

  • Does the Sg standard sound similar, because i;m in the market for one, but i'd like to hear it clean before i get one, But everybody does these damn ACDC covers,

  • just go play one..you have to take in account that this guitar is 45 years old, that is 45 years of aging of the wood and electronics giving it a woody tone and the PAF pickups have also aged giving them less bite.

  • that sounds amazing!

  • how much did that guitar cost

  • Maybe a 1000 $ xD

  • and it's worth like >>>$15000

  • Yea dude, i saw on this site that SG's of this era were selling fron $15,000 up to $25,000. no joke. i wouldent care to find one in my basement :)

  • great tone!

  • thats a great guitar/amp combo

    i like your style

  • Awesome!

  • That's what I like to call a Barry Melton set up. Nice.

  • Man, that's about all the gear you would ever need right there! Tone!!

  • Great stuff....especially the Monkey Man riffs!

Torn between the the Princeton RI and the Super Champ XD (about 1/3 the price). The tone quest continues.

    Keep on keepin on.

  • Hey man love all your videos....now this, this is great tone, a guitar and amp that were obviously made for each other

  • Let me know if you ever want to sell this guitar. great play'n!!

    mike

  • nice shirt

  • Real nice! love it..

  • sweet quality sound..mmmkay???? reverb off mmmkayyyy??? lol sweet dude awesome guitar

  • What volume is the amp on? And the other settings - treble, bass, reverb?

  • now that's a quality guitar, and a quality amp!

  • I agree. You can just hear the tone shine

  • Nice playing and NICE tones!

  • thats like some dereck trucks gear right there w/ the tail piece but dont have a pickguard

  • reverb OFF, better ;)

  • ~Lovely tone man...~~

  • Man, think of how much that vintage gear is probably worth.

  • Love the monkey man :) . 5 watts right? How loud does it get?

  • look at his grin! old gear makes me do that too!

  • I want one of those so bad:(

I already have an epiphone, but still...

  • if ur gonna insult some 1 do it right its "my bad" u fukin tard and watch his other vids he does not suck

  • Sounds Nice There is no subsatute for Age Wood

  • whered you get that blue suede amp???

  • hey a guy who dosent just try and blow it away with too much distortion, nice job bro, you got talent

  • i agree people tend to play SGs with way too much distortion on them the humbuckers have such a rich tone its a waste to drown it out in a wall of shit and fuzz

  • that is the EXACT way i feel..dont get me wrong a little distortion is fine but NOT when pile it on so you can sound "good" and not be able hear when you fuck up.

  • Actually distortion = easier to notice mistakes, unless you have so much that you can't hear what you play anyway

  • Thats what I ment...when you can't even hear what you are playin=D

  • In which case your previous comment doesn't make that much sense, piling on the amount of the distortion so that you would not hear what you play, would not sound good to anyone.

Different styles of music call for different types of amps and levels of distortion. If i've interpereted you wrongly as one of those who doesn't like modern guitar styles and tries to downplay the level fo skill required play genres such as fast metal and the such i apologise.

  • Oh no..I still like the modern styles

  • play harder rock

  • OMG!!! I want a Princeton!!! The New Reissue is so expensive though- $999.99....ouch! I wish I could get my hands on an old one.

  • i think the dude can play, he's not absolutely mind blowing but there aren't a ton of people who are, he's got some decent ideas and i think if he played with a click track or maybe a little backing music just too keep him from going all over the place it would be quite the video. metal might be fun, but get over yourselves, its hardly musical. keep it bluesy.

  • MAN PEiROD

  • An obscene comment ain´t a joke. WDY learn to spell right PERIOD? PE¡ROD...its funny

  • Who are you, phooquin waffleman? What´s the matter with you?

  • Lol @ liecht & Waffleman.

Actually, I find his lead work quite good. It's just improvisation, and it makes perfect sense as he incorporates more of a blues kind of style to it. Maybe you're just unfamiliar to different genres of music, considering the fact you can't even spell "rhythm" properly.

  • it was spuose to be a joke lol

  • What do you know about anything?

    f*ck off kid!

  • Oh,pardon me Universal Judge, you know it all!

  • Oh,pardon me Universal Judge(stupid76),you know it all!

  • i love those maestro tailpeices

  • Good,the SG is nice and light 5* :)

  • I gotta give you alot of credit as you seem to use your hands to get sounds your after instead of relying on pedals and effects like alot of players now a days. old schools is the way

  • Nice techniques...I love the twang!!!

  • Could you happen to tell me your friend's name?

  • that is my favorit guitar ... i have a les paul standert and it goos like hell but there is nothing that looks bethere then that gibson sg ure wealding. god dame that one sounds awesome.

  • Yeah that sound right. No fake modenr tones here.

  • is that the angus young signature model cuz it looks like it

  • Does that SG have a tremelo bar?

  • WOW! A '61 RISSUE WITH THE VIBROLA! Aweasome playing too. Hey, just a question, does the vibrola terrible? Because I hear many people say it is, but I think it adds a more vintage look to the SG.

  • im sure its actually a 64. why would you jump the gun so quick and say shit like that man? congratulations you made an ass of yourself.

  • Whoops my bad... I keep thinking that the SG with the non-batman shaped pickguard is a '61. What're the diffrence between a '64 and a '61 anyway?

  • WoW! Sounds great!

    L~

  • Awesome skills, awesome sounds, awesome guitar, awesaome amp !!! Keep on rocking, dude !!!

  • Please someone help! Which Stones song is he playing. I gotta get the tabs for it! It sounds great!

  • Sounded like Monkey Man. No tabs necessary, easy song. I have the same year guitar, just in white. I hate the color but it plays great. Peace

  • Cooper: Which Stones are you playing? Please tell me, it's driving me nuts! It's not "Can you hear me knocking"? Which is it?

  • I think it's "I'm a Monkey" or something like that... I'm not sure myself. : )

  • @Wol1verine

    The songs calls Monkey Man

  • The stones lick is from "Monkey Man", from the "Let it Bleed" album.

  • Excellent!

  • cool bridge

  • Awesome.
