Me and You sounds like it would be included on Balance of Power or Secret Messages while Get What You Want on a Traveling Wilburys CD if Roy Wood had been in those bands
I don't think Roy Wood is in either one of these recordings,it's Jeff Lynne and Dave Edmunds, I think and it sounds like demos that never made it to albums.
Calm down, calm down...jeff lynne aint commercially successful anymore but he`s made his ill gotten gains from the electro ELO 1980 onwards, Roy wood must of hated this travelling wilbury`s rip off...finally jeff lynne has forgotten how to write a good song
@MrBlueSky14 With ELO? Roy has said in interviews he was wanting to introduce a brass section into ELO before he left, and he said that the music ELO were making after he left was "different" (in a good way!) to what would could've happened if he'd stayed. My guess is that the music might have sounded something like a cross between The Move and Wizzo Band.
Why should roy spend time releasing these songs? That's time he could be spending ordering more chinese take aways or rehearsing boda cea with ugly post menapausal women cabaret singers.
@seventiesclassic Yeah, but during the move and early ELO years they wrote separately. The only song that they wrote together on the LP "looking on" was 'The Duke Of Edinburgh's Lettuce'. And once again only one on the "Message From The Country" LP (My Marge). I could see them (especially Jeff Lynne) rivaling those song writting partnerships on their own, eh?
Listen carefully, if you know Roy Woods Voice it can be clearly heard on the second track although its not nearly as good as the first track...listen carefully though i had no problem hearing his voice...and as far as guitar goes he was always a better guitarist than Jeff Lynne!!

This song is obviously a plagiarism of the Beatles tune: "Please Please".
Come on!
How long will it take (tone deaf) people to get it?
Artistst steal from each others.
Some get away with it, some don't.
If you have made yourself a "name" prior to making the plagiarism, then it's most likely easier to get away with it, than if you're totally unknown and not recognized.
Dont be a Wanker...Grow up you Tosser..sounds nothing like `Show me the way`...Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne contributed a lot to the UK music scene...unlike Peter Frampton
Petey was a great session guy in the early 70's though...I wish they had of stayed together but their music together was to individual sounding. Wood/Lynn sounded like Wood or Lynn on lp's ELO and the Move Message From The Country.
Did Wood ever get credit for the songs he worked on for the ELO II?
If you check out Roy Woods website there is talk of a compilation album including `Me and you`....the management of the day screwed any chance of Wood and Lynne flourishing as a writing and recording entity...a great shame, though both writers had great success at different times for me there was always a Lennon/McCartney comparison...before anyone complains, im Liverpool born and bred and a big beatles fan, but i feel a Wood/Lynne writing partnership would have been brilliant!...
Wow! To bad this isn't on an CD somewhere. I wish Jeff Lynne would put out a rare singles and b-sides album. That would really sale with the right promotional advertising.

Roy inspired many. so his footprint on the music industry is deeper than people thing. he is more than stage 1 ELO and the backbone to Wizzard.

There have been some strong songwriting partnerships.
Lennon/McCartney
Jagger/Richards
Difford /Tilbrook
Edmunds/Lowe
And more I haven't mentioned..
Time to add Wood/Lynne to the list.
