I must say I disagree with these comments. I think it was played at the right speed and with a lot of skill and self-confidence. Nice camera position, too, so that others can see the keyboard and learn more about the piece.
This is a wonderful Chopin's Mazurka. If you want listen to Nuccio Trotta's renditions. That's a pianist worth listening in to. Watch his channel (seven65's channel) Thanks!
freeeakking sloooooww the heck downnnnnn seriously...its too jitery...especially measures 6 and 7...its not supposed to be that fast...its a mazurka..its gotta be calm and lovely...
ho god so maine mistakes humm first to fast ist shopin so you go fast and slwo , fast and slow like a waltz and try to play the good rytmis like p PP or F FF read all song noyt juste de partion c d f ect all ok but you know ist not bad, not good but not bad.
But you know, Kelimu, these are just my suggestions. I always enjoy listening to others play, at all levels. And never critisize unless it's genuinly constructive. Seems like YouTube has enough "professional classical music critics" that really do say the most mindless things. I look forward to hearing more from you. Take care. I will forward you a video of my interpretation of this mazurka.
My friend, this was not bad. One of my favorite Mazurkas. But those are not trills in the first beat of second measure of the first repeat (c-d-c). Chopin was not shy about writing in trills. Although it doesn't sound bad, it does not make sense in that phrase, otherwise he would have written it that way. I would perhaps play this particular mazurka a bit slower. Only then I think does its true meaning come out.
I am against slow playing now. I thought it should be played slowly under impression of Kissin but the score says Allegretto tempo=138. It's more dance like other than a lyrical type of mazurka. i think so
But regardless of speed, I still suggest you mind the difference between the opening trills and triplets. I think the point Chopin made in writing it this was way was to contrast between the two. You can still play them fast, just stretch them out so they sound different from the opening trills.
The Dolce bit didn't really sound that sweet tbh. :( Hehe ofc can't compare this with Evgeny Kissin. So this is alright.

The piece is marked "animato", so I think your tempo is just fine, contrary to popular opinion.

Whoa faster than how most people and I play it but thats pretty cool.

It's good, but slow it and smooth it! As the others have said, such as using the pedal.

I like the way the hands are reflected on the right side of the piano. It's like a moving piece of art! Accompanied by beautiful music.
I like your interpretation! And I think the speed is fine, the piece is supposed to be quite fast, though this may feel odd in the beginning.

Slow down and smoothen it (in layman's terms) will sound better...well done anyway and keep on the good work

Perhaps Kissin plays too slowly. The score I have is marked Moderato animato.Well our own interpretations is what makes music beautiful.
