super track!!! couldnt source where the audio was coming from, was browsing for the atc1 on youtube coz i wanted to buy one and forgot about it later, and audio was still going.. top track mate!!!!
I never log into youtube but I had to because I really dig this demo of the ATC-1 and wanted to leave you a comment. So simple yet poignant. Very nice work. I've been on the fence about purchasing the ATCxi (novamusik updated version with moog VCA) due to the user interface. Can you comment on your experience programming the synth, whether you still have it/use it, and if you host your music anywhere else online?! Thanks, and what a beautiful demo! Cheers
@GLUMUSIC thanks for the comment. programming is pretty straight forward. pretty much every parameter has midi cc, so you can get a knobby controller for it and automate lots of things with your daw that you couldn't on the vintage stuff. i still have it, but haven't used it in a while cause i've been into modular gear. the atc was part of the motivation for that. like, you can just get or make a new vca if you want one in your modular, and don't need an entirely new synth.. anyways..
Thanks for the reply! If you were to choose between the new SE1X and the ATCx (with just the moog filter), which one would you go for? I'm on the fence! Thanks! Also have been considering a Euro modular, but that rabbit hole is deep and expensive, especially for a grad student! Cheers
@GLUMUSIC i guess it's down to whether 3 oscillators or the ability to swap out filters is more important to you. other than that they're really similar afaik
this video was a big reason i decided to get an ATC-1 a year ago, but more than a brilliant demo of the warmth and power of this synth, it's also a great fucking tune. cheers!
@rupagija : the interface isn't the best, but you have to realize how expensive it would be if they had put a bunch of knobs on it. you can midi cc most of the parameters. i use a bcr2000. it's not like real analog pots, but it works..
ha ha! yeah. the thing that cracks me up about the esi32 is that they put an alpha dial that clicks like a cricket on steroids when you turn it and you have to turn it to do anything. synths with buttons that make clicking noises in general is a pet peve of mine. One nice thing about the act interface.

Just read it is an Ableton Reverb Plugin... Incerdible!! Never would have expected this!
MonoPolyST73 3 months ago
And such a superb reverb/delay on it! What´s this one? Sounds pretty like the TC M-3000.
MonoPolyST73 3 months ago
@MonoPolyST73 baha! it's just the ableton reverb plugin.

Really nice track, Squeak. Sounds ambient, but maintains motion. What are you using for the reverb? Sounds gorgeous on my cheap sony headphones!

the bcr just died on me. i was jammin along and it stopped letting midi notes through and now it's pretty much totally useless. thanks behringer!

I progam my MKS-80 on the front panel, so this should be easy ;)
KittyGotSued 2 years ago
i usedta have an mks50 and it was pretty tedious. the esi32 sampler is pretty god aweful to work with. and there was the old tx81z...
squeakyfromme69 2 years ago
ESI32 was a nightmare.. not only was it difficult to find the right menu, but the waiting for it to calculate the new sample was terrible..
the good old Yamaha sampler, worst OS ever probably..haha.. was a nightmare..
MKS80 is not easy to program when used to newer synths, but it's not that hard.. only tedious sometimes, especially when using the upper & lower.. ;)
