Yep, you're absolutely right. A BOV is well worth the money and makes a stock car run so much better. The car won't have any idling problems and you'll never run rich between shifts. BOVS never leak and are 10x better than the stock BPV. BOVs are about as useful as putting a rear spoiler on a FWD car, which we all know helps a ton.

@jakubgt1 you're pointing cases where the bov is adjusted incorrectly so the so the valve is releasing pressure incorrectly which could cause the fuel air ratio to be incorrect. what about a factory bypass valve? you should know where they vent the pressure and you should know that venting the pressure behind the mass air flow sensor means the amount of air is uncontrolled which causes compression surge in high boost cars such as this EVO

I also had an Air intake at that time which helps make it sound louder.... it sounds even LOUDER now that I have an (AMS Intercooler) THIS BLOW OFF VALVE IS LOUD! i freaking love it! alot of people walking the streets get startled by it, when they hear the Blow off Valve.. ha ha I love that shit,,...

at that time in the video.. "STOCK Turbo" the only modd I had on the evo was- Injen Air intake/ Upper intercooler pipe...... Make sure you just get the a BOV that makes that LOUD swooshing sound...

I have the (Turbo SMart Dual Port Blow off Valve) its aloud enough for me....money well spent.

That's good and all, but it's just the point of the Mitsu only offering their highest trim model with the auto. They don't offer the light weight wheels in stock trim or leather seats. You may be right about it being faster and more moddable, but I just don't like the choices these Mitsu corporates are making.. and the XI is a hybrid!!

@Faria3470 The blow-off valve regulates boost pressure. If boost exceeds a certain threshold, the valve opens and dumps the excess air to atmosphere instead of into the engine. Just to put it simple: a Turbo is like a vacuum... it sucks in Air and gives the Engine alot of Power. The Blow off Valve just releases the Air. So the turbo- Breathes the Air IN..While the Blow off Valve- Breathes the Air out.

Not only that, but the Evo X-GSR(manual) is much more easier to mod and the manual Transmission can handle more horsepower than the Evo X-MR with that SST ( automatic with paddle shifts) Check out my other videos. All REAL Hardcore Evo enthusiast will choose the Evo X-GSR ( manual transmission)

at the beguining and also at 15-17 sec i think i can hear a lot of surge, so i think even if it sounds cool if is going to give surge to the turbo you are going to be harming it.. instead people if you own a evo x or any turbo car outthere should install synapse syncronice bov or turbo smart syncronice bov.. both of those companies make those bov with piston acction and not valve action like other bov.. so NO SURGE.

" I hear NO surge"..... If you look for a video on youtube on compressor surge. you will hear that compressor surge makes a fluttering sound. I only hear 1 loud swoosh through out my video. Compressor surges usually makes fluttering swooshes, and sounds nasty. Hey Im not advertising the turbosmart BOV for the evo x. this just a consumer report. This is the First & last Bov I will ever Buy for my Evo. Im soo satisfied with the LOUD swooshing sound it makes..Im sure 99% will agree.
