  • by far best set of instructionals i have seen. You did a fantastic job on designing and constructing. And a far better job presenting it. Thanks. Curious tho of the budget for the project?

  • @TheLegalgrow Budget=$20K, Actual=$30K ;-)

  • You have made my life a lot easier. I'm building a rectagle solar greenhouse this year, and your videos are going to be of great use. Thanks bro, and fatastic work!

  • Your the man, I hope one day I will be able to tackle a job like this. What is your back ground?

  • @MrPVaSoldier electronic engineering and computer science...and I worked for a civil engineer for a while too. ;-)

  • Amazing videos - you are very clever.

  • Man, I wanna see this dome badly!!!!....Excellent work with these videos too, entertaining and informative!

  • one layer

  • Looking good! So you're only using one layer for the SHCS or did I miss a layer or 2?

  • Awesome videos mate. That is one killer construction you've got going there. Cant wait for part 8.

  • awesome vid

  • In true old guy form.... Sweet!!

  • You've done such a great job of documenting this process, Rob. Thank you so much for doing so - it is such an amazing and inspiring process to watch.

  • awsome!

  • Will the pipes be carrying the exhaust from the rocket stove from your other video? If so will there be a problem venting the waste gasses into the green house directly?

  • @ddnguyen278 The exhaust will not go through that area. I'll install some kind of heat exchange and blow only fresh air through that part. The exhaust will go outside where it belongs. Thanks - good question.

  • Very exciting. Great job. The part about the tank fitting perfectly had me cracking up. Gave you a thumbs up.

  • great job, cant wait to take things up a level to your scale! check out the green diamond aeroponics system

  • I love your problem solving ideas re both tanks! OUTSTANDING Vids! Hope you're keeping track of your time and materials so others (me) can get an idea of how much work it would be!!!

  • I advise you to put some plastic inbetween the stones and the wood in 6:55. It will prevent the wood from rotting because of the humidity from below.

    Great work, thanks for posting!

  • @tenj00 The boards there were temporary just to fit things. There is a layer of closed-cell foam that was placed under them. Also this is treated lumber which is rated for direct burial. I believe it's rated for 40 years.

  • Great attention to details...and a lot of details! it's looking good.

  • Amazing job. You rocks the dome. Greetings from Germany

  • @TheArchenoha Thanks. It's nice to see that this one didn't get blocked in Germany!

  • @web4deb

In Germany they only block videos with Sony music copy rights ;)

  • Awesome to see your progress!

  • Good to see the progress. I got my geodesic dome fix. Good quandary/problem solving music. Finding these missteps now will make the second dome go up that much faster :) You should really wear steel toed sandals on a job site.

  • Amazing job so far. I would like to put an SHCS in mine too. I'm still hunting for how-to links. Are you planning on using solar panels or maybe solar evacuated heater tubes.

  • i want to see it finished and with plants growing in it from first planting to harvest

  • Keep up the good work. Patiently waiting to see it complete.

  • Good stuff. Thank you for posting these. I'm curious why you laid all that dirt before laying the ducts. Wouldn't having the ducts deeper in the ground help regulate the temp of your thermal mass? Are you concerned with stagnant moisture in the ducts (e.g. fungus, Legionnaires' disease)? Also, how did you determine the length of ducts? Are then long enough for a greenhouse that size? Not trying to pick but i'd kicking around similar ideas and am genuinely curious.

  • @Mooja12 If the ducts are too low, a lot of the heat will bleed down into the ground and out under the foundation footings. The footings drains around the building will keep the natural ground water out. For the most part, the dirt will stay dry. It's the moisture in the greenhouse that is the problem. Powdery mildew grows like crazy in my other one!

  • Nice

  • cool stuff man

  • love these updates. Keep up the good work w4d.

  • the best video project diary on youtube! Can't wait for the next installment

  • Awesome. Love the extra long vids! Keep up the good work.

  • You are awesome! Incredible thought and vision! This thing is going to rock. Great job. I can't wait to see more.

    Rockon!

  • How much has this project cost you

  • @teenprepper96 It's supposed to be around $15K, but will end up being around $20K

  • @web4deb WOW hope its woth it for you, are you going to keep your small system? and are going to stay with goldfish

  • @web4deb if all the people who watch your videos donated a buck, you'd be able to cover the over-budget, and more! :-)

  • The icing on the cake is almost here! :)

  • first! i love you
