This is just a wonderful creation of classical and orchestral music from the famous time of Beethoven. In my opinion we should have more music like this in the world. When I was younger I would just sit in my bed with a good 400-500 paged book turn on the classical station and read. If only things were like that today.
You can hear Beethoven's fury, frustration and agitation in this piece... for me, apart from the Hammerklavier and the Appassionata, it's Beethoven's greatest solo piano piece.
Let me start by saying I'm not by any means an expert (or even close to being an expert) on Classical Music. That being said, when I was very young I happend to hear this song on a classical music radio station and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with it. Then I heard Dubravka Tomsic's interpretation of it and, in my opinion, no other interpretation even comes close. I know I'm out of my element posting here, but I just had to add my 2 cents worth and to thank Egide0 for posting this. :-)
@forevertweetie Wow! I first heard this piece on an electronic keyboard when I was about 8. I loved the song. I started hunting it down. I gave up about 6 months later (I was only 8)! Then one day out of sheer luck and boredom, I got a gift of a collection of 100 classical music CDs for my birthday. Out of sheer luck and boredom, I listened to some of the CDs, and this CD happened to come across my ears. My quest had ended. It was love at first sight. The rest as they say is history!
@forevertweetie True, I've heard SOOO many interpretations of this movement. They are all good, but for some reason I always use this one as my favourite, as my reference....how I dream I could play like her. No words for her interpretations. It's a shame people rarely know her around.
absolutely wonderful. i grew up listening the the Jeno Jando version though and so sometimes I am expecting his timing and take on the music. nonetheless, phenomenal pianist.
She´s Fantastic !! You might listen to her perfoming Sergei Rachmaninoff´s Piano Concert no. 2 (Adagio Sostenuto); It´s Just a remarkable performance.
Excelente interpretação de Dubravka Tomsic, porém (e a senhora que me perdoe) a melhor interpretação que ouvi até hoje é, indubitavelmente, a da Maria João Pires: insuperável.
This is the recording I've been trying to mimic for...over 12 years now. Honestly! But I still can't quite pull it off like Dubravka Tomsic. I don't know where you set the standard - but I think this must be closer to ten thousand stars!!
Glad you love it. Performed by Dubravka Tomsic, she is a world renowned pianist... traveled on every continent and in over 100 countries, over 2000 concerts performed! Imagine that!

Thanks for posting this -- a wonderful pianist who should get much more recognition than she does.
