  • Do you know if that is a single coil or humbucker? I know a lot of the old Valco's, etc had single coils in humbucker housing. Either way, I'm seriously digging your tone!

  • @ian6511 Hey Ian, thanks.

Valco never made a humbucking pickup...and yeah, they all sound like that!

  • Is that Junior Kimbrough you're playing?

  • @xdanielle182x - no, but there's some RL Burnside licks in there somewhere. LOVE Kimbrough's music, though, my band plays a bunch of his songs.

  • @xdanielle182x - ya might enjoy this: easyoffs.com

  • Very nice. Love those old guitars and Supro amps. Sounds great!

  • how much is that guitar? and where can i buy that?

  • @sasago28 not for sale, sorry

  • I mean the original. I have one of each. Very different animals. The Valco Airline is a great sounding guitar. i have been running it through a Vox AC4 and it sounds great.

    It loves the Big Muff.

  • @airline59 I got a 61 Supro and it loves the Big Muff. Wait a minute, you know what I mean.

  • Nice playing.

How much of the sound is the guitar and how much is the amp. Meaning how does it sound on other amps?

How do these compare to the Airline Resoglass models? I have an Airline Pro (3pu) and it is one of my favorite guitars. I just love the way it feels and the sound. I have been thinking of picking up a Supro or a Tonemaster, but was curious how they sounded.

    Any thoughts?

  • @airline59 - if you're talking about the original Valco-made Airline res-o-glas models, they had the same pickups and same construction as all the fiberglass bodied Valco guitars, they all have "that" sound.

Awesome pickups, but kinda picky as to what amps they like to be paired with.

If you're talking about the modern "Airline" branded guitars made in Asia and sold through Eastwood, they are completely different and bear no resemblance whatsoever in terms of sound, they just look similar. MEH

  • Man ! I'm not sure to get that sound of my Supro guitars & amps...

Will try to edit something about it soon from my side !

  • Thank you!

The 1633 was the stripped-down 1606 (two inputs instead of three, no pilot light, and the fuse holder is internal - you need to pull the back panel off to get at it). Awesome little amp. It is actually surprisingly loud for a single-6V6 thing with an 8". Loud enough to pummel that little camera microphone, for sure!

  • whoa! that's some great sounding stuff! Love it

the Supro 1633? is that a 3 watter?? It's screaming!

I'm always super impressed with your playing, make me want to play more and get better :)

  • amazing sound, good playing! I Love the look of that guitar, I hope it gives you inspiration.

    love and peace

  • Thank you, sir. It is a cool sounding guitar, and definitely inspiring.
