Isn't it a fact that the CIA actually trained a whole bunch of "insurgents" in Afghanistan in the last decade? If this is the case, then it's hard to believe that the only reason for sending even more troops is for the good of the locals.

Dude its not only about the good of the locals its mainly about 9/11. And yeah some companies will profit from it just like every other war. WW2 made huge profits for us but does that mean we fought it for profits?

It's a historical fact that we knew about Pearl Harbor between the encrypted communications that we had received as well as various other sources of intel..Two reasons why nothing was done. #1. The oil companies were supplying the japanese fleet (don't wanna lose a profit) And 2. An attack on our homeland will bring the public into a fury an enable the government to do WHATEVER THEY want i.e. Thousands of Japanese thrown into prison camps..

To my memory he said he will withdraw troops from Irak and send more troops to Afghanistan. The other part he is doing now. Can't remember though when he started to speak about more troops to Afghanistan...
