  • Damn... this is elementary school, first grade for me. All these years, the only verse I remembered was Novembers. If I ever pop one out, I'll teach them this song

  • @kreativekoils613 Good things should be passed along, as well as the memories associated with them :)

  • I remember reading this book when i was in kindergarten and im 20 now. for some reason I started thinking all about my childhood books and the line "blowing once, blowing twice, blowing chicken soup with rice" randomly popped into my head.. suddenly i remembered this book and especially the cute drawings which i loved..this book brought back a lot of memories and i almost cried looking at this.

  • Who in the world would vote "dislike" for this???

  • I remember reading the book when i was really young but I didn't know there was a song to it. I remember reading the October part over and over again so I would remember it. Weirdly enough I still remembered it now that i'm 19

  • They still do.

  • I think kids probably still sing it because you sang it in the 90's in 1st or 2nd grade and I sang it in the 70's when I was in 2nd grade. You got good taste kid!

  • What do "baubled" and "bangled" mean? What did he (Sendak) mean when he wrote "a baubled, bangled Christmas tree"?

  • baubles mean ornaments.

bangle is a type of wrist-ring decoration.

So, I'm assuming he was meaning he'd be a decorated tree with ornaments and ringed with gold trimming. Just my guess. :)

  • decorate

  • Write more literature, Maurice Sendak, who wrote this as a poem. Did you use the "Really Rosie" CD?
