KX 500 would cook a banshee. i've owned both. One of my banshees was stock 2005, tthe other was a 99 ported and polished, milled head, v force reeds, .20 over bore, bigger carbs, boost bottle, hinson clutch, oversized radiot, toomey t-5 pipes, drilled airbox lid. The 99 went like a raped ape, but the KX was stupid.

@jakethesnake121394 all 2 strokes need to be serviced more often than 4 strokes do, but the costs end up a lot cheaper for 2 strokes in the long run, as it costs a few hundred to rebuild the top end of a 2 stroke, and in the thousands to rebuild a 4 stroke

How much Compression Did you New rings and Pistons Give you? How low did it get before you Decided to Rebuild. I have a 2003 and it Has 110 psi and its Hard to start and it runs Kinda Crappy when its hot outside.

@tripledracingteam My friend blew the top and bottom end 2 months after I got it, hence the rebuild. Compression was 180psi after the rebuild which is pretty high. I'm not far above sea level so fuel higher than 92 octane was a must.

@4WHEELBANDITS Toomey and DMC pipes give the highest increase in HP. Everyone only has FMF because they are cheap, no real gain with them just gives a better sound than the stock pipes.

regular time I dont like FMF on a banshee ..i've got a full set up of FMF on mine's and i changed them for Pro Circuit ..and the difference was good not big but good and now i'v changed the Pro Circuit for Toomey T5 ..and let me tell you these are the best sounding pipes and powerfull pipes for a banshee. but you're'S sound like a beast and i like it realy clean tho ;)

good torque huh..... do you have the fatty gold pipes? your bike reminds me of my 2000 banshee i also did a .20 over on it and regret doing .50 over i think the banshee is good enough with a .20 over, mods,nd 108 killer torque!!!! im not gona tell you you should buy but i sugest you put a modified cdi rev box and take the key switch and the wires off with a good ignition coil and 112 octaine thats what i have man i churp trough my gears and still do around 100 but stay .20 over beutiful bike

Hey my banshee runs great once i get it going but it takes me a ton of kicks to get it to start and once it does it needs gas to stay running. After about a minute of giving it a bit of gas once it starts it will idle by itself. its just been rebuilt and has boyesen reeds and fmf fattys on it. What could be the problem?
